Justin Bieber set to be the highest ever paid Coachella headliner but will have to abide by serious rule to keep it all

He's scored one hell of a big gig

Justin Bieber has scored the gig to headline Coachella next year, and he's going to be the highest paid headliner the event has ever had.

According to Rolling Stone the headliner fee for Bieber is going to be an eye-watering sum for two weekends of work, and he's going to get to keep more of it than usual since he won't have to pay an agency fee.

"It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own," Rolling Stone credits an insider with telling them about the deal Bieber secured.

"Between headlining Coachella and the success of Swag, it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin - one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat."

This person reportedly said that Bieber had 'fought for his independence' and is ready to hit Coachella for the next stage of his career.

According to Rolling Stone, the singer will be bagging a cool $10million for performing at the festival.

The singer has performed there before, but this will be his first time headlining, and he'll be well aware of the strict rules in place for performers.

Each act has got to do their bit and stick to the timings properly because Coachella has a strict noise curfew of 1.00am so it's all got to be done and dusted by then.

It's part of an agreement reached between the Coachella organisers and the city of Indio, California, near where it all goes down.

If they break the curfew by five minutes, then it's a $20,000 fine and it's another thousand bucks in fines for every extra minute beyond that, so sticking a couple of extra songs on the playlist or pausing to have a chat with the crowd is not the done thing.

Coachella has been hit with fines before as back in 2023, it had to pay $117,000 (£88,336) in one weekend after three of its acts broke the curfew.

Bad Bunny went over by 25 minutes on the Friday, Calvin Harris had 22 extra minutes on the Saturday, and Frank Ocean ran over 25 minutes on the Sunday.

They're not the only ones who ran over time, as in 2009 Sir Paul McCartney famously racked up a fine of $54,000 (£40,770) for overrunning his set time by a considerable amount.

Even if Coachella gets fined and Bieber gets some of the cost docked from his appearance fee, he'll still be rolling in cash from this deal, but he'll know what's expected of him when it comes to the big event.
