Oasis have now played the first shows of their highly anticipated reunion tour – and not everyone is happy.
Over 15 years since the Manchester band's acrimonious break-up at Paris' Rock En Seine festival and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are back on stage together once again.
The response to the opening gigs at Cardiff's Principality Stadium from fans and critics have so far been overwhelmingly positive, with one review saying the band are 'the best Oasis have been since 96' while another said the show was a 'supersonic reunion for a new generation'.
However it would appear that not everybody is a satisfied customer, with a vocal minority taking to social media to complain about one thing the first two concerts appear to be lacking – crowd interaction.
The Oasis reunion shows are finally underway (Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images) "What an average show in Cardiff so far. Oasis just playing song after song," moaned one very underwhelmed concertgoer, adding: "No actual 'show' on view like proper big acts do these days. Terrible atmosphere and underwhelming thus far."
While a second added on X: "I appreciate I may be in a minority, but the footage of the Oasis gig last night - dull, dull, dull. Plodding and pedestrian."
Now I appreciate that we've been spoilt by the carefully choreographed concert experiences put on by the industry's biggest pop-stars these days, but suggesting an Oasis gig would be comparable to a Coldplay show or Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is like trying to compare apples with oranges.
It's also worth noting the band have been interacting with the crowd during the gigs, with The Mirror reporting that Liam instructed fans to 'put your arms round each other. And when the tune starts, jump up and f**king down' before the playing 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'.
The 52-year-old briefly bantered with the crowd at one point before thanking attendees during the encore, saying: "Right you beautiful people, this is it. Nice one for putting up with us over the years, we know we’ve been difficult. 'Champagne Supernova', nice one."
It wasn't just the band who were on the receiving the heat online either, with numerous users also calling out what they believed to be a rather lacklustre crowd in clips doing the rounds online.
"That Oasis crowd at Cardiff look an absolute shambles. Completely dead, thought it would be absolute pandemonium," wrote one social media user, while another added: "The crowd at Oasis looks f**king dead what on Earth hahahahahahahaha."
Oh well, you can't please everyone.
