Oasis have released a statement over the possibility of the band headlining Glastonbury 2025.

Fans had speculated the brothers would play the iconic festival after spotting a gap in the dates ahead of next year's reunion tour.

Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed Oasis would be getting back together yesterday (27 August), leaving fans absolutely buzzing as they hope for tickets.

However, as many prepare for a probably tough Saturday morning attempting to get tickets, some fans hoped a Glasto headline slot would mean they'd get to see the band on telly. That's because the brothers had said this special reunion tour 'will not be televised'.

Next year's festival is set to run from 25 to 29 June and the Gallaghers aren't due to kick things off until 4 July at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

But, despite those hopes and rumours, Oasis have now shut down the possibility of them headlining.

The band said in a statement this afternoon: "Despite media speculation Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals that year.

"The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live '25 World Tour."

It's fair to say fans were pretty taken aback by the idea of the brothers meeting in the same room, let alone them announcing they'd be sharing the stage together for a 14-date UK and Ireland tour.

The band split nearly 15 years ago, with Liam and Noel famously feuding ever since.

In yesterday's announcement, Oasis said: "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised."

And while fans sign up for the pre-sale ballot and clear their calendars for next summer, there's been a whole kick-off as a load of millennials say they should get 'priority' for tickets.

That includes some of them banging on about how they apparently deserve tickets more than others, with many ‘fans’ making up fictional women to lash out at.

One wrote on X: “Imagine waiting 15 years for Oasis to reform only to lose out on tickets to Chloe, 21 from Stockport who just wants to hear 'Wonderwall' live. #oasisreunion."

Let Chloe hear 'Wonderwall' if she wants to - she won't be hearing them sing it at Glastonbury.

Others slammed: "Really don’t want to be that guy, but do think first priority for Oasis tickets should go to people who were there in the 90s."

But another summed it up perfectly: "'Oasis are overrated’ vs ‘I’m the oasis ticket police and I’ll decide whether or not you deserve to see them’.

"The two most nauseating people you’ve met battling it out for interactions.”

Well, whoever you are, good luck in what could be one of the hardest ticket buying occasions in history.
