A Bridgerton star got her moment to shine as the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, but it came at a real-life health cost.
Everyone knows that when it comes to being an actor, there’s not usually a scene that was shot just once.
Instead, actors can spend hours, days, or even weeks on one part of the story to make sure they’re getting it just right.
However, for Yerin Ha, this came at a price.

The steamy (literally) scene of Ha, who plays Sophie Baek, whose budding romance with Luke Thompson’s character led the pair to finally do what the period drama is known for. A saucy scene worthy of any good book.
But unlike Baek, Ha was left needing medical attention after filming because she developed hives.

Speaking to Capital Breakfast, Ha revealed that she ended up having to apply steroid cream as she had developed folliculitis, a painful inflammation or infection of the hair follicles.
The actress explained that she had to apply baby powder to her skin to keep her intimacy covers in place during the hours spent filming the water scene.
However, one day later, her entire body was covered in the hives.
She said: "The next day I got hives. All over my body! I got folliculitis and needed steroid cream.”
Blaming her hives on the 'combination of the bath water and the baby powder’, as well as being 'a sensitive gal’, Ha was in for an uncomfortable time.
According to Boots, folliculitis is ‘commonly caused by a bacterial, fungal or viral infection or blockages within the hair follicle’, and usually involves the staphylococcus aureus (staph) bacteria getting into the follicle.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.
While Part 1 of the Season 4 drama ended with Bridgerton cornering Baek on the staircase, begging her to become his ‘mistress’, leading her to flee without giving him an answer – Thompson previously teased Part 2 would show viewers a different side of the upper-class aristocrat...and he wasn’t wrong.
Their mutual connection has become a focal point in the character’s lives, adding a totally different dynamic than what we’ve previously seen in the Netflix show.
Many heirs have paired up, but a lowly maid who was raised by a maid-turned-mistress, pairing up with the second Bridgerton son?
Lady Whistledown would have a field day with this scandal.
Well, let’s also hope the new pen(wo)man won’t catch wind of another steamy moment between the rich, such as the hot ‘tea’ Lord Marcus Anderson had at his bedside.
Anyway, it's all heating up.
