True story behind harrowing Netflix doc that saw children accuse dad of running Satanic cult

A documentary added to Netflix about a pair of children who accused their father, and 174 others, of running a Satanic cult has shocked viewers.

Taking place in 2014 in Hampstead, North London, the pair of children told police that their father was an abusive ringleader who spearheaded the paedophilic cult in which they killed babies and drank their blood. This was backed up by their mother, who similarly accused her children’s father of being abusive towards his kids.

This, it turned out, was not true, but the reason the children lied to police is in and of itself a harrowing tale.

The new doc, Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax, has debuted at number two in the UK on Netflix, and was released by Channel 4 last year.

Videos of their confessions were shared online by a conspiracy theorist after being sent them by the kids' mother (Channel 4)

The children made horrific allegations, stating in a police interview that their father was running the cult which involved 175 teachers, parents, their half-brother, police, and religious leaders.

The pair stated that the cult involved adults raping children, kill babies, and then wear their skulls and dance around drinking their blood.

It was later discovered however that there were no proof this had taken place whatsoever.

The kids ended up recanting their statement however, revealing why they had said it in the first place.

After recanting, the children eventually revealed that they had been forced to tell the lies by their mother and her new partner.

The children were forced to make the false allegations after their mother had engaged in a method that a judge would at one point call ‘torture’.

This happened in Morocco while on holiday, which meant the pair who filled her kids' heads with sexually explicit and violent fantasies avoided prosecution.

Though police announced that this had not genuinely happened, it later became a massive online conspiracy theory, leading multiple theorists to be jailed over their harassment of the falsely accused families.

The documentary interviews several of the people whose lives were ruined by the allegations.

This includes women who won a landmark court case to get the conspiracy theorists harassing them jailed.

Viewers online were unanimous in their reviews of the documentary after it was added to Netflix, with some calling it a ‘harrowing’ watch.

One viewer took to social media to say: “Watching Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax. It's so so infuriating. Those poor parents”.
