If you’re stuck for something to watch on Netflix this evening, perhaps there’s a film that has just come onto the platform that might be perfect. Here's the trailer so you can take a look for yourself:

It ticks a lot of boxes – it’s a crime/comedy caper with a huge cast and a really positive Rotten Tomatoes score, as well as a cult status that might mean that you’ve never even heard of it, let alone seen it.

It recently came onto Netflix, meaning that you can now watch it – provided you’ve got a subscription, that is – whenever you like.

The film we’re talking about is called Logan Lucky.

Let’s start with the all-star cast, because that’s where a lot of the appeal of this film will be for some.

Take a deep breath.

The film stars, Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Hilary Swank, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Jack Quaid, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Seth MacFarlane, Katherine Heigl, and – strangely – LeAnn Rimes.

Told you there were a few celebrities in it, didn’t we?

It's a big cast, that's for sure.

Honestly, that’s not even everyone.

It was released in 2017 and directed by Steven Soderbergh, who came out of retirement to work on this picture, as well as distributing it through his own production company.

So, to the plot – what can you expect to see from the movie?

Well, one synopsis reads: “West Virginia family man Jimmy Logan teams up with his one-armed brother Clyde and sister Mellie to steal money from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.

“Jimmy also recruits demolition expert Joe Bang to help them break into the track's underground system.

“Complications arise when a mix-up forces the crew to pull off the heist during a popular NASCAR race, while also trying to dodge a relentless FBI agent.”

The film was reviewed pretty favourably, and currently boasts a 92 percent ‘fresh’ rating on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.

That’s from 290 reviews, so it’s a significant sample size.

The official RT consensus on the film describes it as ‘high-octane fun that's smartly assembled without putting on airs’.

It adds: “Logan Lucky marks a welcome end to Steven Soderbergh's retirement — and proves he hasn't lost his ability to entertain."

Don’t just take their word for it, though.

Critics and fans alike loved Steven Soderbergh's heist flick.

Fans have also been raving about it over on X – the platform formerly known as Twitter.

One fan said: “Just watched Logan Lucky great film, great cast, loved it.

“Very stylish.”

Another said: “Logan Lucky was on Netflix and after going through all the Ocean’s movies recently felt fitting to revisit it.

“Man, what a honking good time, I hope [Soderbergh] has another one of these still in him because no one else makes crime capers go down as smoothly as him.”

So, if you want a piece of the action – get on over to Netflix right now.
