Best new films on Netflix UK now
Wedding Crashers
- Added to UK Netflix: 30th September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 59m
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 15 and up
- Best for: Easy watching and a bit of 2000s comedy nostalgia
This film is all about a pair of divorce mediators who crash weddings to pick up women, which sees Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn take the wheel in this 2005 comedy epic. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 75 per cent, you can understand that it’s a film to indulge in when the time is right.
It’s a great pick for someone who wants to watch something that’s lighthearted, has a moral dilemma, a positive ending, and not so many sad scenes that it depresses you out.
It’s also peak Owen Wilson, so if you liked things such as Zoolander and Night at the Museum, then this is right up your alley.
Plus, it’s got Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper and Christopher Walken in its cast line-up, so you know the performances are going to meet the mark.vI mean, Fisher’s character is a hilarious addition to Vaughn’s style of sceptical comedy.

UNABOMBER
- Added to UK Netflix: 25th September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 40m
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 15 and up
- Best for: True Crime fanatics who are interested in this high-stakes real-life case
This drama is inspired by the true events of Ted Kaczynski’s (Jacob Tremblay) decent into crime after once being a Harvard prodigy to becoming the Unabomber, a domestic terrorist who attempted to blow up university figures and airliners in 70s Michigan.
Kaczynski’s spiral from being a mathematician with potential to become something insanely important in the future, to instead launching a comprehensive plan to enact his own personal vengeance based on a manifesto that advocated for a violence revolution, is told in a way that’s never been seen before.
If you like films that keep you guessing about what’s next, and keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the life of someone who lived and breathed years ago, then this one is for you. As someone who has rifled through Netflix’s catalogue of True Crime, this one is on my list to watch.

Ocean’s 8
- Added to UK Netflix: 29th September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 50m
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 12 and up
- Best for: People who were fans of the Ocean’s movies, but also have a thing for kick ass girl-power flicks
Ocean’s 8 is officially on Netflix UK, where you can watch Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter, take on a jewellery heist like never before in this spin-off of Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy.
This 2018 movie has a 69 per cent rating from Rotten Tomatoes audiences, but don’t let that deter you. This movie has it all: luxury, stealth missions, fashion, reunited friendships, past wrongs being made right and much more.
One of the best elements has got to be the cast chemistry, which sees Sandy take the lead as the bad ass criminal who rallies a group consisting of a soccer mom, tech whiz, fashionista, and criminal partner, to execute the heist at the Met Gala. I mean, the film grossed $298 million worldwide against a production budget of approximately $70 million. So, it’s worth the watch.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3
- Added to UK Netflix: 25th September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 53m
- Age rating: Parental Guidance suggested
- Best for: Like Sega’s Sonic? Love Jim Carrey playing a mad scientist who is obsessed with a hedgehog? You’ve come to the right place.
There’s something about a mad Carrey with a giant tash running around with his band of high-tech robots, that scratches the brain.
As the third instalment of the live adaptation of the widely popular hedgehog game series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 picks up where we left off with James Marsten, Idris Elba, and Ben Schwartz, with the new addition of Keanu Reeves playing Shadow, an enemy like no other.
The films originally came under fire prior to the first film release thanks to the way Sonic’s animation was being portrayed. Thankfully, all was changed for the better, and Sonic now looks like something that wouldn’t give your children nightmares.
The flick is something for all the family to enjoy, and is child-friendly, whilst still delivering those adult moments that fly under the radar. Plus, it’s Jim Carrey. Come on. The dude came out of retirement for this.

We Don’t Live Here Anymore
- Added to UK Netflix: 10th September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 41m
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 15 and up
- Best for: Fans of flicks that are heavy, show a lot of relationship realities and problems, as well as being anchored by fantastically raw acting
This 2004 film is probably the most somber of all that appear on this Netflix UK list. Featuring the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Laura Dern, Peter Krause, and Naomi Watts, it tells the story of two couples who end up intertwined behind one another’s backs.
Married couple Jack (Mark Ruffalo) and Terry Linden (Laura Dern) experiences strife in their marriage when Jack decides to step outside the marriage, with Edith (Naomi Watts), who is the wife of his best friend and colleague, Hank Evans (Peter Krause). Upon learning of their partners' infidelity, Terry and Hank have their own affair together, with both marriages and friendships feeling the brunt.
It’s a really gritty watch, and if you enjoyed movies such as Closer, with Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts and Clive Owen with a similar relationship premise – then this will be one for you too. Personally, I wouldn’t watch this with a partner if you’re not 100 per cent trusting of each other – but that’s just me.

Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly
- Added to UK Netflix: 1st September 2026
- Runtime: 1hr 18m
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 15 and up
- Best for: People who were following the infamous Olympics controversy back in 2024
"From Australian academic to global meme, breakdancer Dr Rachael 'Raygun; Gunn recounts her offbeat path to the Olympic stage — and the infamy that followed," reads Netflix's summary, and that's only half of what to expect when watching this documentary.
If you don't remember the absolute chaos of social media when Raygun took to the stage during the 2024 Olympics for her breakdancing segment, then I don't know how to break this to you.
Her performance went viral as fans online slammed the performance, with many memes taking aim at her style. Now, she has appeared in Netflix's doc where she called her performance, ‘not that bad’.
Obviously, some people will think she's right and other's will disagree with her, but ultimately, Raygun's Olympic dream came to a crashing halt after her appearance.

Best new series on Netflix UK now
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story
- Added to UK Netflix: 17th September 2026
- Runtime: 8 episodes
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 18 and up
- Best for: Ryan Murphy fans, and those who are interested in learning about historical crimes in a cinematic way
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story has recently taken the top spot on the TV list for its second week in a row after Netflix's Tudum reported it collecting 14.5 million views.
As the fourth instalment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s anthology series, Ella Beatty portrays the infamous Massachusetts daughter who was charged with the axe murders of her father and step mother in 1892.
However, instead of diving into the investigation like a documentary-style show, this retelling is a dramatisation of the criminal case, which is one that has led to her name becoming synonymous with murder, axes and motive speculation. If you've never heard of Borden or what happened in the case, I won't spoil it for you. But I'll leave you with a 1890 nursery rhyme song that was created in her honour:
Lizzie Borden took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks.
When she saw what she had done,
She gave her father forty-one.
Andrew Borden now is dead,
Lizzie hit him on the head.
Up in heaven he will sing,
On the gallows she will swing.

The Gentlemen
- Added to UK Netflix: 3rd September 2026
- Runtime: 2 Seasons
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 12 and up
- Best for: People who were fans of the Ocean’s movies, but also have a thing for kick ass girl-power flicks
If you are interested in watching English affluence meshed with a clandestine marijuana business operating under a family estate, then you're in luck.
The Gentlemen won the No. 5 spot on Netflix's most-watched list with 4.2 million views alone for this second instalment.
Season 1 also charted at No. 8 with 2.4 million views, which means the show is only getting better. Essentially, it tells the story of Eddie (Theo James) and his thriving empire, who is setting his sights on success with or without Bobby’s (Roy Winstone) blessing.
When Susie (Kaya Scodelario) starts investigating a new way to diversify the business, things get interesting for the pair, professionally and personally.
Now, I don't know about you, but any creation that's written and even partially directed by Guy Ritchie is worth its weight in gold. I've watched it for the plot (Scodelario), and it was impeccable.

Heartland
- Added to UK Netflix: 1st September 2026
- Runtime: 13 Seasons
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 12 and up
- Best for: Viewers who like feel-good coming of age shows about horses and rural US
Want to know what it's like to work on a ranch in Alberta, US, ride horses and fall in love? Then Heartland is for you.
The show has been a staple for those who grew up as it first began back in 2007, and having watched the character of Amy Fleming transform from a child suffering from the loss of her mother, to being her own woman - it's a full-circle moment as a fan.
According to Netflix, the show focuses on: "Spunky teenager Amy is reeling from the sudden death of her mother when she and her grandfather are threatened with the loss of their horse ranch."
While it sounds very simple, I can assure you, it is not. In a review, the Guardian called it a 'wholesome Canadian horse drama' which sees a sprawling family saga where a tight-knit group is pulled through life's thick and thin moments.
It starts with a young Amy slowly discovering she possesses her deceased mother's ability to aid injured horses.
I love it.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85
- Added to UK Netflix: 1st September 2026
- Runtime: 2 Seasons
- Age rating: Suitable for ages 12 and up
- Best for: People who were fans of the Stranger Things TV show
Have you been feeling down in the dumps ever since the live-action Stranger Things show ended? Here's something to patch that up.
The animation series is here, after the new season was added to Netflix in September 2026. There, fans will get to see all of the original characters like they've never seen them, in an animation style that's unique.
Created as an ‘inbetweenquel’, the cartoon shows the gang on an adventure between seasons two and three of the live-action show in the winter of 1985.
However, before you get too excited, despite Eleven, Mike, Max, Lucas, Dustin, and Will all appearing in the show, the voice actors aren't the same as those who portrayed them in the original series.
But that shouldn't matter, because we only need to hear their voices. Anyway - I'm interested in knowing if Vecna shows up, or if there's brand new information about what the Upsidedown is getting up to.

How we choose to include what’s in our new to Netflix round up
You might be wondering how we come up with our what’s on Netflix UK list, and it’s quite simple.
Basically, every title has to be on Netflix UK right now, and mostly added within the last 28 days to make sure they’re all ‘new’, even if they aren’t new in the production sense.
Obviously, what’s picked comes from the writer (that’s me), and if this was written by someone else from LADbible, you’d likely be getting a different bunch revealed to you.
However, what is chosen is based on what fans are talking about right now, audience reactions and things like Rotten Tomatoes scores – all of which influence the likelihood of a flick or series being added to this list.
However, there’s something on here for everyone, be it age wise, genre-preferences and more.
As we continue to update the list, things may be removed if they are no longer considered relevant or new.
So, make sure you stay tuned as we produce more and more lists of what’s new on Netflix UK.
