Netflix might be regularly adding new dramas and comedies and even older series, but fans still reckon this thriller is the ‘best show they’ve seen’ on there.

Viewers might be gripped on The Grey or hooked by Andrew Scott’s new psychological thriller or maybe just binging their way through Dexter, but apparently they can’t live up to one series.

Despite initially being released back in 2017, this sci-fi thriller still has Netflix users raving as they title it as ‘underrated’.

Many reckon it simply doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves as three seasons of the German-speaking show sit on the platform.

The popular show in question is Dark, brought to viewers by co-creators Baran bo Odor and Jantje Friese.

A nerve-shattering 26-parter, the sci-fi thriller follows residents in a German fictional town as they attempt to uncover the truth behind the shock disappearance of two children.

The connections between four estranged families are investigated in connection to the mystery, before a stomach-churning time-travel conspiracy spanning generations begins to emerge.

And while the mystery introduces these twists in an ‘intricate puzzle’ it ‘includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986’.

So yep, it’s got mystery, it’s got thriller and it’s also still sci-fi.

Even though it might have been over six years since it landed on the platform, viewers are still writing on X: “This is the best Netflix TV show I've ever seen in recent years.”

With another echoing: "Dark is the best Netflix show by far."

“What’s the best Netflix original of all time and why is it DARK?” someone else wrote.

As another simply said: “Best thing on the Netflix: DARK.”

At the time of writing, the series currently has an impressive 95 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer with a very good 94 percent average audience score to match.

Viewers called it a ‘must watch’ and said there’s ‘nothing else like it’.

While some did say they ‘regret’ starting it as they think it’s ‘confusing’, the praise is overwhelming as many agreed it’s the ‘best TV series ever made’.

And the global raving about the Netflix show continues on Facebook too, as one said: “Dark is, simply put, a must-watch!

"The third season features a satisfying conclusion that could be considered one of the best we have seen from this genre.”

And another agreed: “Honest review is the show is 100 out of 100.”

Dark is available to watch on Netflix now.
