Have you ever watched an expensive sci-fi film and thought to yourself ‘this is fun but some crazy violence and carnage would make it better?’

If so – then Netflix have you covered, as their newest huge sci-fi epic is going to have an ‘insane’ R-rated cut full of all the sex and violence you could want.

Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver drops on Friday (April 19), and it is the most expensive Netflix original of this year.

The Zack Snyder production picks up from where Part One left off, following Kora and a band of rebels in their fight against the Motherworld.

This time, however, it will be without the bizarre accent of Charlie Hunnam fortunately - (or unfortunately if you ask me).

Speaking to LADbible ahead of the release, Snyder spoke about the planned R-rated cuts of both Part One and Part Two - and what we have to look forward to.

“The tone of the film changes tremendously, because it's more over the top in like, and purposely over the top [in terms of] the sex and violence." the director said about Part Two's cut.

“It actually colours the movie, as it becomes more of a, I don't wanna say like a parody, but it's more self-aware, you know, because the violence is so insane, that you're now like, oh, like it, this is the thing that shouldn't exist in a sci fi movie at this scale.”

You can see our interview here:

Part One and Part Two were filmed back-to-back, totalling $166 million in production of the Star Wars inspired sci-fi war epic.

As well as this, Snyder also told us that the R-rated version was shot alongside the original, and he doesn’t see them how you’d traditionally see a director’s cut.

The Justice League director continued to say: “The way I like to talk about it is that I think the two cuts that are coming are almost like alternative universe cuts more than an extended version.

“Like we call it the Director's Cut. But they're just like another movie.”

“We planned it while we were shooting, you know, we actually photographed the actors saying different dialogue.

“We knew that we were almost doing a foreign language version. You know, you actually knew as we were filming, like, okay, that's for the R-rated."

The first film was met with mixed reviews, but with Part Two’s trailers seemingly promising a more action-packed conclusion to the story – and the hype is building for the sequel.

With the Rebel Moon director telling us the R-rated Cut is almost done, we can’t wait to see how this ‘alternate’ universe version of the story goes.
