Fool Me Once has taken Netflix by storm, quickly becoming its most watched show with millions tuning in.

It surged to the top of the streaming giant's list of its top 10 TV shows.

But after ruling the roost every day since its release since Tuesday 2 January, it has finally been knocked off into the silver medal position.

Taking over the top spot is a brand new documentary that's already achieved a perfect score from critics.

Rated 10/10 by the experts, the show gets a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

One reviewer described it as 'suspenseful and riveting'.

Another said viewers will be 'left picking their jaws off the floor at the many unpredictable twists'.

It shouldn't really be a surprise it's done so well so quickly, given it's from the makers of The Tinder Swindler about the story of the 'real-life Gone Girl'.

The show in question is American Nightmare.

Released just two days ago on Wednesday, 17 January, it documents the disturbing case of Denise Huskins and her boyfriend Aaron Quinn.

It follows what happens after an intruder broke into their home in the city of Vallejo, California, in the dead of night and kidnapped Huskins.

The traumatic incident happened in 2015.

Aaron, 30, soon became the prime suspect, with police wondering why he didn't immediately call for them when the incident was happening.

When Denise Huskins was kidnapped police first targeted her boyfriend Aaron Quinn as their prime suspect.

Things got even more bizarre when his partner returned home two days later - a twist that started the case's comparison to the novel Gone Girl.

But the case is far darker, with Netflix's in-house news website Tudum saying: "Denise Huskins was called the 'real-life Gone Girl', but the new doc reveals a far more disturbing narrative."

Enough of a premise to get you hooked, right?

American Nightmare can be streamed now on Netflix.
