Netflix users are racing to social media in praise of the 'greatest car movie ever seen' being released onto the platform.

If you'd already rewatched Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown's latest release on the platform and are waiting impatiently for a second series of The Gentleman to be announced at a loss at what else to do with your weekend, then fear not, because Netflix has just added a much-loved movie which is set to get your pulse racing.

The biographical sports drama was written by Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Jason Keller and directed by James Mangold - known for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Ford v Ferrari tells the story of American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale) who represent Ford Motor Company at endurance focused car race 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966, going head-to-head with one of Ford's biggest competitors.

And it stars the legend that is Batman Begins' Christian Bale, alongside the iconic Good Will Hunting's Matt Damon, Outlander's Caitriona Balfe, Lady Bird's Tracy Letts and many more amazing actors.

The film premiered on 30 August, 2019 at the Telluride Film Festival and was released into cinemas in the US on 15 November.

It was considered a global access, made with a $97 million budget to go on to gross $225 million worldwide and it's also gone on to achieve a whopping Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 98 percent as well as tomatometer score of 92 percent, making it officially fresh.

Oh, and it also saw four nominations at the 92nd Oscars Academy Awards in 2020.

A cast doesn't get much better than this.

However, it's only just come onto Netflix and subscribers who'd yet to catch it have been sent into a frenzy.

Viewers have flooded to X to weigh in with their reviews of Ford v Ferrari, and it's clear even all these years later, it's a roaring success.

One user wrote: "Ford V Ferrari how awesome!!"

"‘Ford vs Ferrari’ is probably the best car movie I’ve ever watched," another added.

A third commented: "Love that movie. If you liked that you should check out the 2013 movie Rush."

"‘Ford vs Ferrari’ is probably the best car movie I’ve ever watched," a fourth added.

And a final resolved: "Ford v ferrari is one of the greatest car history movies of all time."
