Netflix has finally given us a release date for The Gentlemen spin-off TV series.

The Guy Ritchie led series centres around a drug-fuelled criminal empire as the likes Theo James, Ray Winstone, Kaya Scodelario and Vinnie Jones all feature.

The eight-part show follows the Duke of Halstead, Eddie Horniman (James) who is the estranged son of an English aristocrat, finding himself involved in a world of criminality.

You can take a look at the action-packed trailer below:

Ritchie stars as the creator, co-writer, executive producer, and director of the first two episodes.

“The world of The Gentlemen is a little bit of me,” Ritchie told Netflix.

“We’re looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories, and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast.”

The 2019 film of the same name was released to positive reviews from critics and performed handsomely at the box office.

Stars such as Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell and Charlie Hunham featured in the film, which grossed over $115 million (£90 million) at the box office against a budget of just $22 million (£17.2 million).

Now, it seems Guy Ritchie fans are excited for the release of the series, as one fan commented: "So excited for this!! there's no one like Guy Ritchie!"

Another fan showed their excitement at the casting: "So excited for this! Theo James renaissance!"

Some users also expressed their desire for some of the film's actors to make an appearance.

Amid the excitement online, it seems some fans are concerned that their favourite character, played by Hunnam, won't be appearing in the new spin-off.

Hunnam starred as Raymond Smith in the 2019 movie, who is the right-hand man of Mickey Pearson (McConaughey), one of the most powerful drug lords in Europe.

"You can't have The Gentlemen without Charlie Hunnam and McConaughey," one person tweeted.

"Need Charlie Hunnam," a second added.

"WE NEED CHARLIE HUNNAM BACK," another wrote.

"Will Charlie Hunnam be in it? Mathew McConaughey, Hugh Grant?" someone else said.

"At least a cameo a couple of scenes or something..."
