One Direction fans are attempting to cancel Liam Payne and Logan Paul after the former made some iffy comments on the latter’s podcast.

Payne appeared on Paul’s Impaulsive podcast this week and said he ‘disliked’ his former bandmate Zayn Malik.

During a lengthy interview with controversial YouTuber Paul, Payne said: “There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there's many reasons why I'll always, always be on his side."

Payne also said of Malik's girlfriend Gigi Hadid: "She tweeted something about get yourself a respectful man or something. That one didn’t age very well."

Many fans believed this was a reference to allegations that Malik once struck Gigi's mother Yolande, which Malik strenuously denies.

Payne went on to call his former bandmate a 'd**k' saying: "My parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times. Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense.

“You can always look at the man for where he is and say: ‘Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d**k.’

“But at the end of the day, once you’re understanding what he’s been through to get to that point – and also whether or not he wanted to be there.”

In the aftermath of Payne’s comments, stans managed to get #LoganPaulIsOverParty trending on Twitter and social media users didn’t hold back when airing their grievances.

Sharing the hashtag, one person wrote: “Imagine being a part of one of the most successful bands only to be starting drama on an irrelevant YouTuber's podcast… like that is SO embarrassing.”

Another added: “Hey, no hate! But this is me trying to figure out how Liam Payne could say such bad things about certain 1D members when they literally gave him a career through One Direction, he didn’t make it through X Factor by himself for a reason.”

“Liam Payne going onto Logan Paul’s podcast and calling Zayn Malik a d**k is not something I thought would happen today, but here we are,” tweeted a third.

Another wrote: “How did Liam Payne manage to be the most insufferable person in a room when he was literally sitting next to Logan Paul?”

On Thursday (2 June), the singer was forced to take to Twitter to clear up his comments, writing: “Guys - I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff but when it's your family it’s hard to let it slide.

“They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn which I responded to - but listening back maybe I didn’t articulate myself as well as I could have.”

Payne added: “I was saying that there will always be things we disagree on but that I will always, always be on his side. That’s family. Zayn is my brother and I will stand by him forever.”

LADbible has approached Payne and Malik's representatives for comment.
