Robert Plant is a English singer and songwriter who was the lead singer of rock band Led Zeppelin from 1968 until it disbanded in 1980.
The group got their iconic and unique name after Jimmy Page, who would go on to become the band’s guitarist, was told by The Who’s Keith Moon that his band would go down ‘like a led balloon’.
Plant was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Whilst Led Zeppelin were only active for a little more than a decade, the band released eight studio albums, four of which earned Diamond status (meaning they sold over ten million units).
Robert Plant came fifteenth in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. His iconic voice sung tunes such as; Stairway to Heaven, Immigrant Song and Whole Lotta Love.
Plant has also enjoyed a successful solo career, since Led Zeppelin disbanded he’s released eleven studio albums.
