The Mandalorian is back, baby, and fans are already rushing to the internet to spread the truth about season three: it's awesome.

But don't take our word for it.

Season three's premiere episode 'The Apostate' dropped only hours ago and the reviews have already flooded in.

The first taste of the new instalment from the Star Wars universe has already copped an 89 per cent positive score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Television critics are now spreading the word that Din Djarin, or The Mandalorian (played by Pedro Pascal), and Grogu are back, welcomed with open arms after strong beginning right out of the gate.

The third season is currently sitting at 86 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Josh Wilding from ComicBookMovie called it 'the best Star Wars TV show' around, which, if you ask us, is a flippin' big call when you have heavyweights like Andor and The Book of Boba Fett to contend with.

"The Mandalorian returns with everything fans love about the franchise and plenty of hints that this will be the most thrilling and revealing season yet," he said.

Martin Robinson from the London Evening Standard added that 'The Apostate; is proof that Star Wars stories should have been turned into episodic television long ago.

"The Mandalorian is perhaps the ultimate expression of what George Lucas was getting at all along: Star Wars should never have been a set of films, it should just have been a TV show."

He added: "Thank the Maker we finally have it."

Tessa Smith from Mama's Geeky called episode one 'a great welcome back to the Mandoverse, complete with action, humour, and fan favourite character cameos'.

She added: "You really forget just how much you missed the adventures of Din and Grogu until the second they show up on screen."

Jeffrey Lyles, from the incredibly named Lyles' Movie Files, added that, while 'The Apostate' was a short and sweet reintroduction, it was a good reminder of 'why The Mandalorian is the foundation of the Disney+ Star Wars universe'.

Grogu wasted no time in making friends and influencing the Huttese in episode one.

So go on, get to watching it then. With reviews like that, we're surprised you haven't already switched on your telly.

LADbible can confirm the critics are on the money with this one, with this writer calling it an 'utter cracker of a season premiere'.

Season three of The Mandalorian dropped on Thursday March 1 in Disney+.

Eight episodes will drop on a weekly basis.

So all you need to do is buckle up and get ready for hyperdrive, because things are looking good in the Star Wars universe.
