Dwayne Johnson had male breast reduction surgery to eliminate the appearance of man boobs

It turns out the Rock has insecurities like the rest of us

It’s hard to imagine someone who is as built as the Rock feeling self-conscious about anything. I mean, the man’s an absolute tank.

But it turns out that Dwayne Johnson is a mere mortal just like the rest of us, and supposedly had surgery to help him deal with an insecurity. Check out one plastic surgeon discussing the alleged operation here:

If the video wasn’t a bit of a giveaway, the now 50-year-old former professional wrestler supposedly dealt with man-boobs or gynecomastia, as Dr Anthony Youn explained in his TikTok.

He continued to explain that during Johnson’s career with WWE, he was apparently ‘self-conscious’ about having man boobs.

“So, in 2005, he reportedly underwent surgery to reduce them,” the plastic surgeon said.

I know, we’re just as shocked as you are about this.

And you might even be further taken aback to learn that the condition is actually more common than you'd think, roughly affecting '70% of adolescent boys’.

However, Dr Youn explained that '90% of the time, it goes away on its own without surgery'.

The Black Adam actor reportedly told Parker Center for Plastic Surgery about his supposed decision to go through the procedure: “It was an aesthetic thing. I went in and showed the doctor, and he said, ‘Are you crazy?’

“I was walking around with my shirt off all the time, so I had it done,” Johnson continued.

LADbible has contacted a representative of Dwayne Johnson for comment.

The condition 'causes boys' and men's breasts to swell and grow larger than is typical for men,’ the NHS says. “It is most common in teenage boys and older men."

“Signs vary from a small amount of extra tissue around the nipples to more prominent breasts. It can affect one or both breasts.

“Sometimes, the breast tissue can be tender or painful, but this isn't always the case.”

The condition is believed to have a few causes, including a hormone imbalance, obesity, puberty, ageing, medication, alcohol misuse and even illegal drugs like cannabis or anabolic steroids.

And the decision to seemingly undergo plastic surgery is not the only interesting behaviour the star has shown.

The Furious 7 actor has actually admitted that he sometimes pees into water bottles at the gym when he isn’t able to get to a bathroom.

“I usually stay pretty hydrated,” he said. "I need to go to the bathroom a lot. Not a lot, but probably a couple of times during a workout I have to go to the bathroom. So I break out the bottle.”

Seriously, that man is dedicated to the gains.
