Man who gets ID'd every fortnight explains secret to looking three decades younger than actual age

There's looking younger and then there's that

A 53-year-old man has shared his secret to looking much younger after he gets his ID checked constantly and reckons he looks about three decades younger than he actually is.

Some people spend an absolute fortune trying to hack their bodies to make it younger, but this guy seems to have cracked a much cheaper alternative.

Essex man Tristan Lee is a health and wellness coach who says he gets ID'd while buying lottery tickets, and when he goes to the doctors, they want him to show he really is a 53-year-old bloke.

Tristan also says when he's down the pub with his friends, he 'sticks out like a sore thumb' among the rest of the guys in their 50s as some folk think he must be one of their sons.

He explained how he's managed to keep such a young visage, having had Botox injections but no invasive cosmetic surgery to alter his appearance.

He said his secret is staying healthy, positive and keeping away from processed foods, having adopted a vegan diet with lots of protein instead of carbs.

"I don't do anything specific to stay looking young - I just look after myself because I want to stay healthy," Tristan said of his youthful appearance. "I've always taken care of my body and I avoid processed food, but I don't count calories or anything like that. I still get asked for ID when buying lottery tickets - and even when picking up prescriptions.

"It was still happening in my 30s, then my 40s, and now my 50s - I always wonder how much longer it can go on.

"Have I swallowed some kind of elixir of youth?

He thinks his 'youthful vibe' has got something to do with it as he reckons 'your energy shows on your face', and that he thought he'd stop being asked for his ID at around 30 despite it going on much longer than that.

The 53-year-old Essex man says that he's 'interested in being healthy' instead of 'trying to look young', which is perhaps where the biohackers attempting to reverse the aging cycle are going wrong.

He says he gets ID'd a lot, since plenty of places don't believe he's 53 (SWNS)

Among his other practices are always applying SPF to his skin and making sure he has a hat on to keep his face out of the sun.

Looking much younger than he is has some problems, as Tristan says he gets ID's 'at least once a fortnight' and whenever he has to pick something up, people will ask if he's getting it for his dad, but he's alright with it as he reckons his mindset is part of the reason he looks young.

He said: "I think you can look young but not if you give off an old, bitter vibe. It's easy to be cynical and bitter - and people will see that if you go around looking like you're chewing on a wasp.

"As you get older, life s**ts on you and it shows on your face - but I want to put out a happy vibe. I'm friendly, and playful and optimistic. I smile and ask people things and show optimism.

"I just don't take myself too seriously because one day I might stop looking young - and life will go on. Youth is an energy, if you're warm and friendly, it will show on your face."
