Actress Gina Carano has confirmed that Disney's next instalment of The Mandalorian has finished filming.

The action star, 37, shared an on-set snap of the smash-hit Star Wars series, declaring its sophomore season is ready to hit the editing room ahead of its October 2020 release on Disney+.

The Fast & Furious 6 star, who plays Cara Dune in the sci-fi spin-off show, posted a black and white photo to her 994,000 Instagram followers of her in costume, with the caption: "That's a wrap on season 2... I absolutely love this work and the people in it."

Carano also shared a few snippets on her Instagram Stories of the on-set 'boom guy' in just his (snug) boxer shorts as well as a hand-drawn pin badge of her character, Cara.

All nine episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian have aired in the US on the Disney+ streaming service, with weekly episodic releases set to hit the UK from the end of March.

Starring Game of Thrones alumni Pedro Pascal as the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter known simply as 'Mando', it boasts a solid cast that includes the legendary Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Werner Herzog as The Client, with Hollywood heavyweight Nick Nolte and Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi lending their voices to Kuiil and IG-11, respectively.

The series centres on the life of Mando, as viewers are introduced to a number of familiar locations and characters from a galaxy far, far away...

Carano's character plays a significant supporting role and ally to the fearless Mando during some of the more intense and character-driven moments of the hit show, which is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Jungle Book).

Thus far, the show has been widely praised for its storytelling and the way it's seamlessly slot into the Star Wars universe.

One of the biggest successes to emerge from the show is the introduction of 'Baby Yoda', which has taken the fanbase (and entire internet) by storm.

2020 sees the programme's toy lines hit the market, which includes a to-scale cutsey Yoda, an animatronic model, and a whole range of action figures ahead of season two's premiere.

The Mandalorian, which is available on Disney+, is streaming in the US now and will be in the UK, in weekly instalments from 24 March.
