If there's anything we need at the moment, it's a dose of new Louis Theroux - and we're in luck. The esteemed film-maker is about to drop a new four-part series.

Louis Theroux: Life On The Edge will look back at Louis' previous work - 60 hours of some of the most interesting and diverse documentaries of the past 25 years.

Louis, who has won several awards for his work, has become known for his distinctive interview style, where he engages with people from all walks of life.

His work, which has produced some of the best British television ever, covers anything from UFO enthusiasts and neo-Nazis to drug addicts and prostitutes, giving a voice to those on the fringes of society and shining a light on a whole range of issues.

The new series will show interviews with Louis and conversations with him and some of his most famous subjects. Many of their stories have unfolded over the years, with Louis revisiting some of his oldest contributors.

He has also includes some of his own home movie footage, looking at how the world has evolved over the last 25 years.

Louis said today: "For years I've wanted to go back and make sense of the programmes I've made, find out what happened to some of the contributors, update their stories, and see what all these many hours of making TV might add up to.

"Lockdown gave me the time and space to do this. It's been a strange and fascinating couple of months working on this, and especially fun to dig through old episodes of Weird Weekends - programmes I made in the mid-90s, when the world was a very different place.

This is relatable.

"I'm really proud of what we've been able to do with this new series. I think we've been able to make the whole add up to more than the sum of the parts and to bring out surprising themes and commonalities. And, if nothing else, it was an interesting review of how my haircuts and glasses have changed over the years."

The BBC haven't announced a date for when we can see the new series just yet.

And as well as making his new series, Louis has been doing Joe Wicks workouts during lockdown, as you can see here:

Louis recently told LADbible: "There are very few things that are locked in to my day, and the main one is that at 9am every morning, I do Joe Wicks."
