People can't get over incredible comparison between Louis Theroux and his brother

When you think of the name Theroux, your mind probably goes straight to the very famous documentarian, Louis.

However, Louis is not the only Theroux worth mentioning as there is also Marcel. And to avoid any confusion, the pair are brothers.

Yep, there’s plenty of the family who are big names in their respective field, from travel writing dad Paul to cousin Jason, the Mulholland Drive actor.

But fans can’t get over a specific similarity between Louis and his big brother – not to do with their careers.

Premiering on ITV yesterday, Marcel’s latest work is The Playboy Bunny Murder, a two-part documentary looking into the horrific, unsolved murders of three Playboy Bunnies.

Louis took to X to encourage people to watch the new documentary, writing: “I wouldn’t normally promote a film that’s on at exactly the same time as mine on a rival channel but it’s different when it’s been made by my brother @therouvian.

“I haven’t seen it yet and look forward to watching AFTER I rewatch mine at 9pm tomorrow.”

And it seems many people did watch it as the raved about it on social media.

Users called it ‘thought provoking’ and ‘fabulous work’.

But many others were also pointing out a specific similarity between Louis and Marcel as they watched the first episode of The Playboy Bunny Murder.

One replied to the star’s tweet to say: “I knew as soon as he spoke, he was your brother.

“Very interesting programme.”

Another agreed: “Watching The Playboy Bunny Murder with Marcel Theroux… He sounds so much like Lois! Very interesting so far!”

Others also added: “I can’t believe how alike you sound,” and “Louis Theroux’s brother has the same voice.”

Viewers also joked about the two brothers’ documentaries clashing as they said: “Sounds like we have a Therou-down.”

The second series of Louis Theroux Interviews began last week.

While Marcel’s was the only new doc of the pair’s on last night, the second part of his clashes with the same time a new one of his brother’s airs.

Louis Theroux Interviews… Pete Doherty is set to show on BBC Two at 9pm tonight, with The Playboy Bunny Murder on ITV.

This is the second series of Louis Theroux Interviews… with last week’s premiere seeing the star sit down with boxer, Anthony Joshua.

Also featuring in the next few weeks are Chelsea Manning, Ashley Walters, Dame Joan Collins and Raye.

The Playboy Bunny Murder part two airs tonight at 9pm on ITV 1 and Louis Theroux Interviews… Pete Doherty airs at 9pm on BBC Two.
