Louis Theroux urges people to watch brother's documentary about horrific murder of Playboy Bunny

Louis' big brother has a documentary coming out at the exact same time as one of his

Louis Theroux may be a king of our documentary-loving hearts, but he’s not the only Theroux in the business.

In fact, his brother has a brand new one out tonight (13 November).

Louis comes from a pretty famous family, with his dad Paul a travel writer and novelist.

His uncles Alexander and Peter are also novelists and writers, and his cousin Justin is an actor, known for the likes of Mulholland Drive, The Girl on the Train and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

And his big brother Marcel is a novelist and broadcaster, having presented a number of documentaries.

Marcel’s latest work investigates the horrific, unsolved, murders of three Playboy Bunnies back in the 70’s.

ITV’s official synopsis for The Playboy Bunny Murder includes: “The journalist and filmmaker’s long-standing interest in the brutal murders, which shocked the London he grew up in, led him to return to the killings of Eve Stratford, a Playboy Bunny who aspired to be a famous model, Lynda Farrow, a croupier with years of experience working in night-time London, and Lynne Weedon, a schoolgirl whose whole life lay ahead of her.

“This two-part series aims to unravel the mystery through unrivalled and exclusive access to friends, colleagues and relatives of the victims who provide an intimate insight into their lives and personalities as well as archive material from the time.”

And Marcel’s younger brother has taken to social media to urge people to give it a watch.

Today, Louis wrote on X: “I wouldn’t normally promote a film that’s on at exactly the same time as mine on a rival channel but it’s different when it’s been made by my brother @therouvian.

“I haven’t seen it yet and look forward to watching AFTER I rewatch mine at 9pm tomorrow.”

The Playboy Bunny Murder will air both tonight and tomorrow at 9pm on ITV. And as Louis points out, this is a bit of a problem for documentary fans as his latest episode also drops on Tuesday evening.

Tomorrow’s episode sees Louis chatting to the Libertines co-frontman, Pete Doherty.

Louis is interviewing a host of stars for this latest documentary series, including Raye and Ashley Walters.

While Marcel’s latest project involved a ‘four-year hunt’, says ITV. The journalist had to ‘try to track down police files, examine new breakthroughs and travel in search of key figures who have been linked to the case as he pursues the truth that has remained hidden for decades’.

Whichever of the Theroux brothers docs take your 9pm slot tomorrow, we can imagine it’ll be worth watching the other straight after.
