Since The Witcher was released on Netflix on Friday, fans have been going wild for the show.

The fantasy series has a rating of 8.8 on IMDb, which is right up there with the very best original shows on the platform.

But as well as raving about Henry Cavill, sword fights and the like, viewers also seem to be a little obsessed with the 'Toss a Coin to Your Witcher' song from the end of episode two.

The tune, which is played by bard Jaskier, has been made available on Soundcloud, where it has been streamed more than 184,000 times, while uploads of the song on YouTube have been viewed more than two million times.

Fans have also been getting overly excited about the little ditty on Twitter, sharing their love for it through the medium of memes, of course:

But while fans of the fantasy and the mystical songs within it have been buzzing ever since its release, the show hasn't been quite so warmly received by critics and has a score of 56 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

However it seems like the show's creator, Lauren Hissrich, ain't too bothered by the opinions of critics.

Taking to Twitter, she said: "Many people have sweetly written me, upset about The Witcher reviews. Know this:

"Who do I care about? 'Professional' critics who watched one episode and skipped ahead? Or REAL fans who watched all eight in one day, and are starting their rewatch?

"I am f*****g THRILLED."

Fans of the show seem to think 'Toss a Coin to Your Witcher' is an absolute banger.

The eight-part series is based upon Polish writer Andrzej Sapowski's novels about a solitary monster hunter 'struggling to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts'.

A second series has already been announced and Henry Cavill, who plays protagonist Geralt of Rivia, has said his commitment to the show won't rule him out of playing Superman.

Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: "You've got to keep in mind that regardless of what movies I'll be doing over the next few years, you can fit two projects into one year."

When asked whether this meant there was still 'hope' he would don the famous cape once again, Cavill referenced the 'S' symbol - which was revealed in his first Superman film Man of Steel to be a Kryptonian symbol for hope - and said: "I mean, that's what it stands for, right?"
