Celebs Go Dating star Wayne Lineker has revealed he has never dated a woman over the age of 30 - despite being 58 himself.

The nightclub owner made the admission during a conversation with co-star Tom Zanetti about a potential love interest called Carla.

The only problem is that Carla is 31, which seemed to be something of a concern for Wayne as he explained: "She's 31 though, bro. I've never been out with a girl above 30 in my life."

Tom then asked about another lady that Wayne potentially has his eye on - Hannah. She's 39 though, which Tom didn't seem to think was much of an issue as he told his pal: "Personally I think you'd be happier with someone you know is going to be longevity."

In agreement, Wayne added: "Yeah, I'm ready for that, bro. I'm too loose single, bro. I'm just too loose. I need to calm down."

Wayne and Tom spoke in the bedroom.

Speaking about Hannah, Lineker went on: "That's who my children would choose for me, for sure. I am attracted to her and I'm really attracted to the way she is as a person you know - she's like a beautiful soul, bro."

The admission didn't seem to go down well with viewers as one wrote: "Wayne Lineker at nearly 60 years old saying he's never been out with anyone above 30 just says it all."

This all comes after Wayne appeared on This Morning and was grilled by presenter Holly Willoughby, who asked him outright: "What's wrong with women your own age?"

Lineker replied: "I don't know, I couldn't rule it out. I guess everyone has their own attractions, don't they?"

Willoughby also brought up the bizarre list of requirements that he for a girlfriend, reading out a section that explained prospective girlfriends should be 'above 30', adding that those aged 28-29 'could work'.

Lineker said: "Between 30 and 45 would be an ideal age for me now."
