Alex Scott has spoken about why she kept her current relationship with a famous singer secret following her breakup with a footballing legend.

The football pundit has spoken in the past about her ‘secret’ relationship with another England footballing legend, which she opened up about in her 2022 memoir.
Scott’s relationship was with fellow ex-Arsenal player Kelly Smith, with the pair dating for eight years whilst being teammates. They broke up in 2013, though Scott was not open about this ‘secret’ relationship until her 2022 memoir.

Alex Scott has been dating Jess Glynne for a few years now, having made their public debut as a couple at the Brit Awards in 2024.
Though social media sleuths had suspected the two were dating before this, they had kept things pretty secretive. The pair were first spotted together in May 2023 at an event, and later attended Wimbledon together.
Scott has spoken about why they initially kept their relationship secret in an interview with The Times last year, stating she wanted to try and protect their love for as long as they could.
She said: “It took us a while because we knew what we have is so special, so it has been about trying to protect that and keep that for us in such a way that it continues to be beautiful.”
She went on to say about their relationship: “I’m spiritual — it was meant to happen when it did, when I’m in a place where I’ve worked through so much and am ready to accept love into my life.”

Glynne spoke to Fearne Cotton about their relationship on the Happy Place podcast last year, saying: “The work that I've done on myself has actually settled me inside, and it's allowed me to enter a relationship where I feel very comfortable and I'm just me. I'm unapologetically me.
“It has allowed me to be really happy in a new relationship. I think love is a really scary subject, and it's normally something I keep quite distant.
“But it's a nice thing to be able to embrace someone and a relationship that feels really genuinely good.”
Speaking to The Sun ahead of her stint in the jungle, Scott revealed that the show would be a ‘test’ for them as a couple.
She said: “Those quiet moments when your life’s 100mph, just coming home… she loves to cook, and we love to sit and have a glass of wine, I’ll most probably be watching football in the background… I’m definitely going to miss that, especially when I’m so hungry.
“Most probably all I’m going to be thinking about is, ‘Please, can I just have Jessica’s pasta right now?’ It’s a test for both of us.”
She admitted, though, that the singer would be her ‘biggest cheerleader’ on the show.
