One of the stars of Celebrity Traitors has spoken out about the rumours of a feud between Alan Carr and Paloma Faith after he controversially killed her on the show.
With just three nights until the Celebrity Traitors finale airs, the spin-off of The Traitors has been a massive success not just for the BBC, but for Alan Carr himself.
The show has averaged over 14 million viewers for over-18s, four million more than season three of the civilian show, and has been a huge viral hit.
Alan Carr though has seen similarly huge success off the back of the season, with early reports stating the BBC are looking to give the comedian his own chat show akin to The Graham Norton Show as a result of the love from viewers for the comedian as a Traitor.
In just the second episode of the show, however, Carr carried out the first kill of the game in plain sight, choosing to kill Faith in front of Ruth Codd.
Paloma Faith and Carr are good friends off screen (BBC) After being told they had to touch someone’s face to kill them, Carr chose Faith, in large part due to how famously good friends the pair are, something which got a furious reaction from the pop-star when she found out.
She was the first to die in the show, having appeared in just one episode.
Now, however, recently exiled star Kate Garraway has weighed in on the supposed ‘feud’ between the pair on Heart Breakfast with Amanda Holden.
When asked about the supposed feud between the pair by Jamie Theakston, Holden said it had been ‘blown out of proportion’, with Garraway adding: “It’s a game! Alan hasn’t said anything about Paloma to me, and Paloma hasn’t about Alan.
“I think it was pretty shocking, it was indeed flabbergasting even though Tom thought it was ridiculous to be flabbergasted, but to see her in that coffin when the lid slammed down was really shocking… So, I think it was extreme, and it got intense, but yeah!”
Garraway spoke out about the supposed feud (BBC) Garraway and Holden pointed out that, if Carr had touched anyone else’s face, it may have been seen as odd but was accepted due to the celebs' close relationship.
Speaking on the after-show podcast The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, Faith had said of Carr killing her: “I don’t think it was very nice.”
She went on to add: “If the shoe was on the other foot, I would not have touched Alan’s face. Categorically, he had a choice – maybe it was the easiest option, but it was the choice he made and I don’t think it was very nice
“I still maintain to this day that if the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn’t have done that. So I don’t think he should have done it to me and I’m surprised that he did.”
She went on to state she had since forgiven the presenter, who has since joked he’s the ‘most hated man in the UK’ and so had left for America.
Speaking on the Life’s A Beach podcast hosted by Fatboy Slim, Carr also said: “I’m killing people willy nilly, I’ve got a real taste for it, I killed Paloma Faith. She’s not happy about it.
“She said, ‘If you were a real friend, you wouldn’t have killed me’.
"But I said, ‘I’m the Traitor! The show’s called The Traitors – it does what it says on the tin.’”
The finale of The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One on Thursday 6 November at 9pm.
