The Celebrity Traitors returned with a bang last night and it might not have just been Richard E Grant who slipped up in the first episode of the new season.
Claudia bucked the trend by selecting just two traitors at the round table, under the premise that they'd be able to select a third of their own the following night, but it might already be going downhill for the dangerous duo.
Although Maya Jama hasn't gone as far as openly admitting that she's a traitor in front of a crowded room, as Richard E Grant managed to do in an 'insane moment' just minutes after he was selected, there have already been some slip-ups noticed by the eager audience.
The Love Island host was named by Professor Hannah Fry in the closing moments of the first episode as a potential traitor option, and many agreed that the 32-year-old would be an excellent fit.

When the cast were blindfolded, it seems as if a lot of people watching on felt she was a little over the top with her reaction, and literally licking her lips won't have helped things.

One fan on X wrote: "Maya Jama smirking like that is quite bait."
Another added: "Sorry but Maya relax your eyes", while another suggested that she 'will be found out instantly'.
A fourth penned that she 'looks guilty as hell', which will probably have also been picked up by some of the very smart people in the room alongside the TV host.
Maya certainly couldn't believe it when she encountered Richard in the turret at night given his admission earlier in the day, calling him her 'unhinged uncle' running around the castle, in what was one of many iconic moments from the opening episode on Thursday night.

While the two of them seem to still be getting on well at this point, if Maya wants to go far in this season, she may well be forced to throw Richard under the bus in order to solidify her status among the faithfuls.
It will also be interesting to see how the dynamic changes once the third traitor is introduced, with the two traitors set to pick between James Acaster and Amol Rajan on tonight's episode.
So, although Maya might well be one that the contestants look at in the future, and her reaction at the round table was perhaps a little dramatic, it seems impossible that Richard E Grant will outlast her in the traitors turret, given his 'giddy' reaction.
Winkleman spoke about the reaction from Grant to being picked as a Traitor, saying: “He was just so happy, he just couldn’t believe it.
“We go into a room after I’ve interviewed them all, and they say, ‘This is what I want to be’. You just couldn’t not give it to him. You couldn’t not, because he wanted it so much, and he was compelling.
“And he’s Richard E Grant, I couldn’t believe that he was actually in the castle.
“He was giddy and about five minutes later, he went ‘Oh!’.
“The genius of the game is everybody plays it completely differently, and he took that to the next level.”
Of course, there will be plenty of twists and turns over the next few weeks as the season progresses, but the faithfuls might have been handed their first traitor gift-wrapped.
