The boys are back in town.

Just months on from the heartbreaking final episode of The Grand Tour, which seemed to signal the end of over 20 years on the screen together, it looks like Clarkson, Hammond and May are making a return.

Call it anticlimactic, but the fact of the matter is that fans of their shows will be over the moon about the news.

The show will air on Prime Video and it's titled The Not Very Grand Tour, which was confirmed by Amazon today, with more information on the official website for the British Board of Film Classification (bbfc).

It is stated on the BBFC website that the show was produced back in 2024, and that the title will be a 'motoring comedy documentary series' - sound familiar?

In the first episode of the first season, titled 'The Glory and The Power', the synopsis reads: "In this episode, the team celebrate the combustion engine, with a look back at footage from past adventures and test drives."

Sounds like a nostalgia trip for everyone to enjoy.

For any doubters out there, it is also stated that the episode was directed by Phil Churchward, who also worked on Top Gear and The Grand Tour.

It is also stated that the cast consists of the trio, with no other names mentioned.

Amazon confirmed in a press release that we can expect The Not Very Grand Tour to be released on Friday 18 April.

The Grand Tour came to a close in September last year, with the three presenters going in separate directions with their careers, such as Clarkson with his farm and pub, Hammond with his own car show and May with his travelling adventures.

But never in a million years did we think that they'd be back together so soon.

In fact, the three made comments hinting towards the popular Prime show continuing after One For The Road.

Speaking to LADbible, May said about the show continuing without them: "Well, there are rumours that it is, and I hope it does."

And Hammond agreed, saying: "Absolutely, it'd be nice to watch it rather than make it."

May joked: "I'd like to see these two still in it."

Hammond said it would be 'lovely' if the show carried on, but Clarkson was more particular about some boxes that needed to be ticked if The Grand Tour was to continue.

The 64-year-old journalist explained: "I think they should get three unknowns,

"The biggest mistake they could make, by a mile, is getting people whose names we already know - 'Oh, they like cars'. That's not good enough," he insisted.

Clarkson said they would need to know every detail of the car, down to knowing the model from 'an eighth of a car's door mirror'.

"You've got to know your stuff. You've got to be able to drive, and you've got [to be] motoring journalists as well. So, but they've got to be unknowns," he concluded.

Whether the show continues or not, at least we've got yet another new episode of the iconic trio to look forward to.
