Musician Labrinth is well known for his hit songs in the 2010s such as Pass Out, but in recent years has become more known as the composer for HBO’s Euphoria.
Now though, Labrinth has come out in a fiery Instagram post to slam the HBO TV show, also announcing that he is leaving the industry.
The 37-year-old English musician was widely praised for his work on Euphoria, winning an Emmy and being nominated for a further three across the first two seasons.
His return for the upcoming season three however appears to be in doubt following his post on social media in which he said ‘f*ck Euphoria’.

Labrinth posted on Instagram saying: “F *ck Columbia. Double f*ck Euphoria. I’m out.
“Thank you and good night x.”

Columbia Records is the label Labrinth is currently signed to, so the post has shocked many online, with fans also noticing that a make-up artist from the show Kirsten Sage Coleman commented: “I understand. You aren’t alone.”
Labrinth’s post, and the subsequent comment from Coleman, has led to social media rumours about cast and crew connected to season three being unhappy.
A Variety story in 2024 detailed issues with bringing the show back for a third and likely final season, with Zendaya reportedly having essentially vetoed Sam Levinson’s original scripts for the third season.

The report claims HBO explored the option of removing Sam Levinson from the show to try and get season three back on track, but ultimately decided against it.
In season three’s first trailer it also became clear how they were able to get the now star-studded cast of the TV show back as it became clear that many of the storylines see the casts huge stars acting completely separate, with Zendaya’s Rue never shown with Jacob Elordi or Sydney Sweeney.
The post from the show’s composer marks the latest dark spot in a troubled rollout of season three, with Syndey Sweeney’s controversy surrounding her American Eagle jeans ad distracting from marketing for the show.
Labrinth was originally intended to just produce the score for season one of Euphoria, but ended up using the song All For Us in the series.
The song, which Labrinth won an Emmy for, plays in the season one finale. The musician told GQ in 2019: “I had initially written All for Us for my upcoming album and when I started working on the Euphoria score, it was a no-brainer to include the track in the series as we all loved it so much.

“Zendaya and I didn’t actually meet until the premiere; we collaborated on it remotely for the TV show.
“We both got to shower each other with praises at the premiere. She’s an incredibly gifted soul.”
