Gavin & Stacey may have been finished for over half a year now, but fans are still discovering new details about the iconic show.
The BBC comedy followed the lives of Gavin and Stacey, a young couple who meet after speaking on the phone from Barry and Essex.
Starring Mathew Horne and Joanna Page in the titular roles, the TV show is as beloved, if not more so, for all the supporting characters outside the main two.
The show follows them from their first meeting to marriage to the marriage of their friends to their two families becoming one, ending with a Christmas special this December gone.
Recently though, one of the houses where they filmed the iconic show has gone on the market in Wales, leading fans to scratch their heads about a potential plot hole.
Which house from Gavin & Stacey is on the market and how much for?
Doris' house, taken over by Gavin and Stacey, is now for sale (BBC) Doris’ house from the show has been put on the market by Chris Davies Estate Agent in Barry.
Margaret John starred as Doris in the Gavin & Stacey and she lived next door to Stacey’s mother, Gwen (Melanie Walters).
The actor sadly died in 2011, something that was made canon in the 2019 Christmas Special when they returned after nine years.
Following her death in the show Doris left the house to Stacey, with her, Gavin and their young family moving in.
The agents have put the house up for £220,000, with the listing stating: "Located in the highly sought after West End of Barry, this charming two-bedroom mid-terrace property offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of British television history! Famously known as Doris’s house from the beloved BBC series ‘Gavin & Stacey’, this delightful home is brimming with warmth, personality and seaside charm."
Rather than focus on the novelty of the house where the iconic show was filmed going up for sale, many fans have made a different realisation altogether after a video of the property was posted on TikTok.
What realisation did fans make after seeing the listing for the house?
Their family has three kids by the end of the show (BBC) Fans commented en-masse on the video after making a realisation. One wrote: “So you’re telling me all three of Gavin and Stacey’s kids shared a room?”
Another posted a comment with a laughing face, saying: “How’s Gavin and Stacey got 3 kids in there.”
While a third commented: “Gavin and Stacey's 3 kids shared 1 bedroom?”
By the end of the show, the pair do indeed have three kids and continue living in the house left to them by Doris.
While never directly addressed it is bizarre because, by the final Christmas special, they would certainly have had enough money to move into a bigger house.
The answer seems to be quite simple however: the real-life house isn’t 100 percent canon, and fans are maybe overthinking this one a little as fun as it is to question.
Either that or all their kids were crammed into a triple bunk bed.
