A Jon Bernthal thriller with a ‘diabolical twist’ dropped today (8 January) on Netflix and is the perfect watch for people who’ve already binged Run Away.

Run Away is the newest Harlan Coben thriller to be dropped on Netflix and instantly shot to the top of the worldwide viewing charts, even beating out Stranger Things.

The show has been a major hit with fans, with many calling it the best Netflix Coben series yet, but coming in at just eight episodes long many fans will already be looking towards what they can binge next.

Luckily, the perfect follow-up watch to this has been dropped by Netflix and it has a stacked cast.

Starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson, the show is called His & Hers and follows a pair of estranged spouses who are both trying to solve a murder where they believe the other is the prime suspect.

Bernthal and Thompson star as Jack and Anna, a detective and a news reporter respectively working a murder case from opposite sides.

The series has been lauded for having the ‘most diabolical twist in years’ by viewers who have already torn through all six episodes.

Whilst we won’t spoilt anything on the day of release, an interesting concept, a starry cast, and a crazy twist ticks all the boxes for fans of Harlan Coben crime thrillers.

Lucy Mangan of The Guardian gave the show a three star review, calling it ‘the ideal new year TV’.

Mangan went on to call the show ‘twisty, absurd and bingeable’, before later adding: “The twists, they are plentiful. The absurdities, they multiply. The viewerly enjoyment, it increases.

“The script – intoxicating mercenariness aside – is serviceable. The endeavour is bingeable. Nobody needs more, this early in the year.”

IGN meanwhile gave the show a whopping score of 9/10, saying it ‘keeps you hooked from beginning to end’.

Variety gave the show a positive review as well, calling it ‘deliciously bonkers’ and saying: “His & Hers is one of the most unhinged shows ever seen on television.

“It has a jaw-dropping, layered ending that will leave viewers gobsmacked.”

The show is an adaptation of a novel by Alice Feeney, with Feeney heaping praise on the show in an interview with TUDUM.

She said: “When His & Hers lands on Netflix, it will be seven years since I wrote the book in my shed.

“What a journey it has been. I love this story with all of my dark heart, I love the TV series too, and everyone who helped make this dream come true.”
