How much food I'm A Celeb campmates actually get as viewers convinced they receive 'extra'

Could you survive on the jungle diet?

Here is how much food the campmates on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here actually get to eat, seeing as fans are convinced contestants receive secret rations.

Have you ever wondered exactly what the food in the jungle is like? Or what the campmates do when somebody brings very few - or even the dreaded zero - stars back to camp?

Now, most of us might have thought the celebrities taking part were overexaggerating their hunger on the show, or that producers may even be sliding campmates secret rations on the sly.

But the truth is that the food situation is just as dire as it seems on the TV.

Revealing what a typical day looks like after a campmate comes home with zero stars in the kitty, 2019 contestant Roman Kemp previously revealed via the Capital FM TikTok account that it really is just rice and beans.

In the clip he tells the camera: "People always ask me the basic rations when you're in I'm A Celebrity... so this is it!

"Now, if no one wins any stars and you have nothing else in the day, this is all you will have," he adds, before revealing various packets of rice and beans.

"So each day you will get a little pack like this and inside each of these packets is a portion of beans and a portion of rice," he continued.

"Now obviously if there are six people in camp, there will be six portions of rice and six portions of beans.

"This is basically your food for the rest of the day."

Presenters Ant and Dec themselves have even confirmed this to be true, sharing a video earlier in the year revealing during a fan Q&A just how tiny the daily rice and beans packets are.

Holding two tiny bags up to the screen, Ant said: "This is all they get, per person, per day.

"So if they don't do very well in the trials, that's it."

Which means the campmates will almost certainly be having a rough time in camp, considering Dean McCullough's poor performances in the past couple of trials.

Kemp isn't the only ex-campmate to reveal how dire the basic rations are either, with fellow season 19 contestant James Haskell admitting he even tried to bribe producers behind-the-scenes. "I'm 100% being brutally honest with you," he said during an interview with The Social. "There is no extra food."

Revealing his desperate offer to one of the camera crew, the former rugby player added: "I'll give you 500 quid when we get out of here to get me a Mars bar."
