Inbetweeners fans spot incredible Easter egg on Jay's fake ID everyone missed

Inbetweeners fans spot incredible Easter egg on Jay's fake ID everyone missed

James Buckley's character Jay Cartwright is the gift that keeps on giving, even all these years on

Seeing as though most of us have rewatched The Inbetweeners thousands of times, you'd have thought that we'd have picked up on every little Easter egg in there by now.

But it turns out that one of the most hilarious tidbits hiding in plain sight completely went over most of our heads and fans of the Channel 4 show can't believe they missed it.

In the very first episode of The Inbetweeners, which is aptly titled 'First Day', we were introduced to the four socially awkward friends who decide to mark their return to school with a few drinks at The Black Bull.

Although Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper and Neil Sutherland are apprehensive about the prospect of getting served in a boozer while being underage, Jay Cartwright couldn't be more confident.

That's because he's got what he reckons is the perfect fake ID to fool the bar staff that he is older than he looks, which comes in the form of an Australian driving license with the name 'Bret Clement'.

The comically overconfident teen - played by James Buckley - who is well known for being a compulsive liar, struts up to the bar and cooly orders three pints of lager and a pint of Guinness, only to be quizzed on the contents of his ID.

Jay has to quickly put on an Aussie twang and informs the landlord he was born on the '15th of bloody May, 1989', before referring to him as 'cobber' in a bid to sell the idea that he really is from Down Under.

Take a look at this to jog your memory:

As you probably remember, his fake ID actually worked - although he wasn't allowed to get the round in for his underage pals, leading to Will whipping out a 'Teenagers: Know Your Rights' handbook to argue the toss with the barman.

Three pints of cider, three carvery dinners and a random punter later, the lads get their pints.

Probably due to the fact we were all so amused by the antics unfolding on the first episode of The Inbetweeners, loads of viewers managed to miss some chucklesome details about Jay's fake Australian driving license.

Eagle-eyed social media users who took a closer look at the form of identification registered to a Bret Clement clocked that even the fine print on it was funny.

The address on the driver's license, which is obviously supposed to be the home of Jay's Australian alter ego, is listed as 15 Whitcombes Rd, Clifton Springs VIC 3222, Australia.

If you type that address into good old Google, it will bring up some very entertaining results.

The search engine will show up a location which has been listed online as 'The Shaggers Club', which is supposedly a gay night club Down Under - but the details underneath this are even more humorous.

It reads: "Gay nightclub owned by DJ Big Penis (Bret Clement). First opened on the 15th of bloody May 1989."

People couldn't believed they hadn't noticed the comical detail while watching The Inbetweeners and shared their thoughts of it online.

One said: "That’s some elite level Easter egg hunting. Bravo!"

Another wrote: "Love how it's the same as an Aussie license. Makes me feel even more like I'm in the Pussy Patrol."

A third added: "They should have gone there in the second film!"

While a fourth joked: "Where only 50% of the members have had sex."

Full disclosure, there doesn't really seem to be a gay club at 15 Whitcombes Rd - it is just the work of internet pranksters who are a fan of The Inbetweeners.

That reminds me - it's Bret Clement's birthday next week, so mark it in your diaries.
