Jeremy Clarkson has shared a devastating update on Diddly Squat, just two months after announcing the farm had been hit with a bovine TB (bovine tuberculosis) outbreak.
Shortly after wrapping up filming for season five of Clarkson's Farm, the TV presenter took to Instagram to share some upsetting news about one of the cows living on the farm.
Alongside an adorable photo of a black and white calf standing in its barn, the 65-year-old wrote: "This was the first calf ever born at Diddly Squat. And this morning she was destroyed, while pregnant with twins, because she has TB. So sad."
After sharing the heartbreaking update, Jeremy was inundated with comments of people sharing their sadness. However, one follower was quick to question whether the cow actually has TB or whether she simply reacted to the skin test used to detect the disease.
"90 percent of the time they go to cull and they find no TB lesions anyway," they commented. "And stress is a huge factor in the skin test so being pregnant with twins could well have caused the reaction."

Responding to the query, Clarkson wrote: "I have no trust in the TB testing system at all. As a newcomer to farming, I find it all extremely haphazard.
"I also can’t understand why no vaccine has been developed. And I do not see why a cow’s unborn calves can’t be delivered before the mother is killed."
Speaking to Times Radio shortly after sharing news of the outbreak, the former Top Gear host said the 'offending cow' was pregnant with two babies, which presumably is the same cow who has just been destroyed in a bid to prevent the disease from spreading to the rest of the herd.

"You have a test every six months on the cows and then you sort of become blasé, it's a hypothetical threat," he told the radio station.

"Then the vet looks up as he did yesterday lunchtime and said, 'I'm really sorry this one's failed'. So that means we're now locked down and it's just dreadful, absolutely dreadful. It's only been not even 24 hours since I found out and it occupies my mind."
Given the devastating outbreak, season five of the hit Prime Video show is expected to be slightly more sombre than previous series, and Clarkson recently revealed they would be taking a break from filming after the season concluded.
