Jeremy Clarkson addresses major health struggle seen in Clarkson's Farm as he admits he was 'knackered and panicked'

Clarkson underwent heart surgery after scary symptoms

Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about the truth behind his health after his farming show's latest series was released.

As you may know, Clarkson’s Farm has an Amazon Prime Video TV show which has been going strong for a few years now.

Viewers at home have been loving the documentary series, which shows the former Top Gear presenter working on his farm, situated in the Cotswolds.

After a little break between seasons, the series returned today and fans were ecstatic at first… until they noticed something off with Clarkson.

To take things back a notch, the presenter-turned-farm boy underwent a heart procedure in October last year, which included the implantation of two stents.

Afterwards, he was told to change his diets because two of his vital arteries were blocked and so began his journey to better health.

But for the first time, fans will be able to see just how it has impacted his work.

According to Clarkson, they can see him becoming more and more ‘ill’, and it’s a worrying sight.

Earlier this month, the host also revealed that he had been just 'days from death' after a dive left his lungs 'filled with water.'

The car enthusiast started to feel clammy, pins and needles in his left arm and chest tightening.

After the 'sudden deterioration' in his health, he was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and was operated on.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, he recalled that he was having a well-earned rest in Seychelles before his symptoms appeared.

He said: “I always try and dive off a boat on every holiday because at my age you never know when your last dive is going to be, or your last anything, for that matter.”

However, about halfway through the last dive (which was more of a belly flop), his lungs were full.

He said: “When I finally reached the beach my lungs were full of water, and I realised I can't do it anymore.”

Then, after returning home, his symptoms appeared and knew he needed to go to the hospital immediately where he was admitted and underwent the surgery.

Now that he’s back to work on the farm and viewers are watching how his health begun to decline.

The star told the publication: “I was trying to get the pub open for the August bank holiday weekend, and at the same time doing the harvest on the farm.

“And it’s very well documented I ended up in hospital with a heart problem, when you see how stressful it was trying to do those two things - there’s simply no sleep.

“I was coming back knackered from a day trying to get the pub open, and having to get straight into the tractor to do grain carting through the night.

“You can’t make the harvest wait, if it’s dry, ready and fit, as they say in farming I’ve discovered, if the wheat and barley fit you’ve got to get out there.

“God it was knackering.”

As for the new season, he understands that viewers can see the progression of his health battle and struggles with maintaining such a hard job.

He explained: “You can see me becoming more and more ill as the days go on, because I just lose my sense of humour, lose my ability to stay calm.

“I get in a proper old panic.

“I didn’t know at the time. I knew I wasn’t being me.

“Because if you don’t sleep, it very quickly has an effect.”
