Dame Helen Mirren gave a very frank response when asked if she’d ever work with Tom Hardy again, following reports of a rift.
Mirren stars alongside Hardy and Pierce Brosnan in Paramount+ thriller series MobLand.
However, last month it was reported that Hardy wouldn’t be reprising the role of Harry Da Souza after being ‘fired’ due to allegations that he was frequently late to set and difficult to work with.
The Hollywood Reporter then gave added further details, claiming a source had said Hardy had committed ‘career suicide’ by sitting around in his trailer for hours and leaving A-list co-stars Mirren and Brosnan waiting around.

However, there was a further twist to the story when it was later reported that while there had been some tensions on set, Hardy hadn’t been fired and director Guy Ritchie was ‘pushing’ to make things work.
Amid all of this, attentions were turned to Hardy’s MobLand co-stars to see if they would confirm or deny any of the rumours, prompting Mirren to take to Instagram with a solid show of support.
Sharing a snap of Hardy in character on the show, the veteran actress wrote: “Love you now and always, Helen.”
Now in a new interview, Mirren gave an equally strong message of support when asked by Variety if she’d ever work with Hardy again.
“Absolutely. In a fucking heartbeat,” she said.

So that’s that matter all cleared up then.
She continued: “I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor.
“Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster.
“As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. Tom is a very special person. I think he’s absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt.”
Mirren went on to say that the ‘powerful’ creative team behind the hit show are bound to end up running into a few differences along the way, but stressed that a third season would be ‘better’ than ever.
She added: “When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging. People will get their knickers in a twist as we say.
“We will go forward, absolutely, and it will be even better.”
