Despite rumours to the contrary, Tom Hardy has not been sacked from the third season of the show MobLand, according to a new report.
It had been claimed by Puck News that Hardy had been 'fired' from production over allegations that he was frequently late to set and difficult to work with, and an alleged showdown with producers was identified as the moment the actor supposedly lost his job.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed a source had said Hardy wouldn't leave his trailer for hours at a time, and that keeping megastars like Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan waiting was tantamount to 'career suicide'.
However, Variety has now reported that Hardy hasn't actually been fired after all, as a source 'close to production' told the outlet: "Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season 3 and things are being worked through creatively."

It reported that director Guy Ritchie 'likes working with Tom' and while the claims about the tension during production were real, they're currently trying to work things out.
Puck had claimed Hardy fell out with MobLand co-creator Jez Butterworth and producer David Glasser, but Variety says the actor hasn't been officially fired and they're working on trying to patch things up.
According to the newest report which says he's not fired, the claims of tensions over Hardy being late onto set and wanting to re-write some of the script are true, but it hasn't resulted in the actor being fired from the third series.
Another source claimed to Variety that things might have been sorted out already if other alleged leaks claiming Hardy had been sacked from the show hadn't happened.

Variety's sources have also claimed that Hardy was unhappy that scripts were sometimes coming just a week before shooting as the actor 'likes to prepare', and the scriptwriters aren't around if an actor wants to change something, which makes the requests harder to satisfy.
They claimed Hardy was 'better behaved' when Guy Ritchie was directing since they have a good working relationship going back years.
One of Variety's sources also claimed that while Hardy being late to set was 'frustrating' for his fellow actors, there was specifically no friction between Mirren and Hardy.
Last year, the Daily Mail had reported there'd been a 'feud' between them on set, claiming she was 'increasingly frustrated' with the way Hardy 'swaggers around like he's the king'.

However, following that report Mirren took to social media to quash the idea that there was a feud between them as she posted a picture of them together.
The caption read: "Things I love: 1. Christmas for obvious reasons. 2. Tom Hardy for his brilliance onscreen, his dedication off screen, his good heart and especially the HardyHugs I get when onset with him which is not nearly enough in my opinion.
"Things I hate: 1. Swede (the vegetable). 2. Bad journalism.”
What have Tom Hardy's other co-stars said about working with him?
Sir Patrick Stewart

Stewart and Hardy worked together on 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis, in which Hardy played the villain Shinzon.
The X-Men star described Hardy as 'an odd, solitary young man from London' in his memoir Making It So, adding: "Tom wouldn't engage with any of us on a social level. Never said, 'Good morning,' never said, 'Goodnight,' and spent the hours he wasn't needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend."
Austin Butler

Butler and Hardy starred alongside each other in 2023's The Bikeriders.
Butler said: "I pictured him to be this grizzly bear, always serious. And really, he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.
"He’d be joking around until action is called, and then go into being the most intense guy I’d ever seen."
So it sounds like Tom Hardy hasn't actually been fired from MobLand and if the various parties involved can patch things up, this could be a brief blip.
MobLand's second series is expected to be released on Paramount before the end of 2026.
