Awkward request Naked Attraction contestants must agree to in order to be accepted onto show

The audition process isn't for the faint of heart

Going on Naked Attraction isn't for the faint hearted - and neither is the audition process.

The popular (and rather entertaining) TV show first aired in 2016 and, despite rumours of it being axed, Channel 4 confirmed last summer that a new series will drop this year.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster said in June 2023: "Naked Attraction has not been decommissioned and a new series will return to Channel 4 next year."

Rejoice!

With that in mind, the show is likely to be looking for new contestants and, if you're looking to apply, you'll probably want to know what the audition process entails.

Fortunately for any Naked Attraction hopefuls, a previous contestant has shared what the vetting process is like.

While it sounds extremely uncomfortable, Gavin insisted it 'wasn't so awkward'.

Gavin had to travel to Newcastle for the audition process, where he was interviewed by both 'a camerawoman and a male interviewer'.

During the interview, he was asked to strip down to his birthday suit and pitch himself to the pair.

"It lasted about 45 minutes. It wasn't so awkward, they made me feel at ease," he told iNews.

A 45 minute interview is nerve-wracking enough - never mind doing it starkers.

Gavin's pitch (and nakedness) obviously impressed the interviewers as he went on to be accepted for the show.

He shared that filming started at 7am and ran all the way through to 3pm.

The show has been running since 2016.

Reflecting on the day, he noted: "You were sweating because there was a light shining on you, but there was a draft so it was a bit cold, so there was quite a lot of shaking going on by the boys.

"Whenever the camera wasn’t on, everyone was shaking themselves to try and make themselves look bigger."

While I personally wouldn't go on TV naked for a million quid, Naked Attraction contestants actually do it for free.

The only time they get paid, according to Gavin, is if you're on standby and don't end up being on the show.

"You get paid £75 for being in the room," he said. "You don’t get paid if you’re on the show."

And if it's your dream to appear on Naked Attraction, don't be disheartened by the questionable audition process, as Gavin says it's 'quite hard to get rejected'.

The same can't be said for any potential love interests on the programme, however.
