Old footage of Suits actor Patrick J. Adams' audition has resurfaced, after the show 'changed his life'.

The famous drama TV series focuses on a fictional New York City based law firm called Pearson Hardman, and its Harvard-graduate lawyers.

It aired on USA Network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019, as Adams played the role of fraudulent lawyer, Michael Ross.

On the show, Ross gets hired for his photographic memory and wit despite never going to Harvard law school - or completing any law school for that matter - though he still passed the bar.

The show is also famous for starring British Royal Family member Meghan Markle, as well as Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman among others.

News broke of a spin-off earlier this year, starring Arrow's Stephen Amell, while Macht, who plays Harvey Specter in the original, was confirmed to be part of the start of the series, which will be set in Los Angeles.

Suits spiked in popularity over lockdown as one of the most watched shows on Netflix as well, so it comes as no surprise that Adams said that a specific scene from the pilot episode changed not just his career, but his life.

Suits fans will know the scene by heart but essentially, Mike Ross (Adams) is on the run from the police as he evaded a drugs sting operation in a hotel, finding a hiding space in Harvey Specter's (Macht) meeting room.

After accidentally stumbling into the interview, Ross then showcases his skills by reciting specific laws, even correcting Specter on one that he couldn't properly remember.

Impressing the senior lawyer, Ross even convinces him to hire him at the firm, despite never finishing law school, as he stands out from the other candidates who left Specter unimpressed.

It's a cool, smooth-flowing scene that sets the tone for the show early on, and a fan-favourite for viewers.

Old footage of the audition can be viewed above, in a moment that Adams had no idea would change his life.

In the clip, early stages of the character's humour, sarcasm and knowledge comes across well, while those on the other side of the table laugh at his execution of the jokes in the script.

They obviously rated him highly, as he would go on to secure the role.

Fans took to the comments to talk about how important the scene was to the show, as one wrote: "Patrick said in a recent interview that this scene with Gabriel in the pilot not only changed his career but his whole life.

Remarkable."

Another said: "Damn, he's really good, so good he had them laughing"

A third simply commented: "This moment is legendary."

Suits would go on to be one of the defining shows of the 2010s, while Ross and Specter's characters would develop one of the best rapports we'd see on screen.
