The Simpsons has owned the title of the show most aptly able to predict world events before they happen for years: but now it appears that The Boys may have stolen that title off them in the new season.
The Boys may be a superhero show first and foremost but it has throughout its five seasons acted as a parody of the US, particularly in its comparisons between Trump and Homelander.
Whilst this has always been a part of the show, the newest season has become as blatant as ever with the comparisons between Trump and the super-powered villain, even sneaking in references to Charlie Kirk.
One scene in the newest episode is utterly wild, with many fans believe it predicted Trump’s recent posting of himself as an AI Jesus.
The scene involves Homelander believing that a holy version of his dead mother figure/sexual partner is speaking to him from beyond the grave

Now, if you don’t watch The Boys the above sentence may sound utterly wild to you, but if you do watch it you will probably be nodding along going: “Oh Madelyn Stillwell comes back, cool.”

Season one of the show sees Homelander controlled by a senior member of Vought by playing on his mummy issues, even breastfeeding him at one point.
The actor who played her, Elisabeth Schue, comes back for a cameo in the newest episode with Homelander beginning to hallucinate.

This sees her come down through an American flag surrounded by a bright light, telling Homelander that he should become a God, and be more loved than Jesus because ‘why does he get to have more love than you… you save more people.’
This is followed up by the angelic version of Madelyn telling him to kill the millions of people who don’t love him, before she reveals her breasts to him and causes holy light to emit from them, as he leans in to feed from her. No, really, that’s what happens.
The Boys fans can’t stop seeing the comparisons between the scene and Trump’s AI imagery
To be clear, fans of The Boys comparing this to Trump are omitting all the stuff about killing anyone who doesn’t love him and the breastfeeding, but they are drawing a clear line from the discussion of Jesus and imagery of the scene with the President’s recent posts.
One fan tweeted: “first the timing of Chappell Roan, now they nailed the perfect timing for the whole Trump AI thing ffs I'm starting to think the writers worked on The Simpsons.”
Another posted: “it is genuinely insane how their semi-trump parody starts believing he's a divine being in the exact same week as the real trump despite the episode being written a year and a half ago.”
A third said: “It's actually insane how perfectly they timed this with Trump also losing his mind thinking he's Jesus rn.”

Eric Kripke, the creator of The Boys, has actually spoken about these comparisons, stating that they never set out to predict real-world politics but that sometimes it happens anways, and has spoken out about this specific episode .
Speaking to TV Line about it he said: "We wrote this episode two years ago, even before the election. It just came from us talking about where Homelander was moving, and what his sort of final form would be, as he's been slowly losing his mind over the seasons."
He worried it was 'crazy' when he pitched it, adding: "My concern was that everyone would think Homelander had gone too far and it had gotten cartoonish.
"That was my legitimate concern. But the world keeps out-crazying us. I just want to be like, 'Yo, we're trying to do satire! Will you slow down for a minute and give us a chance to be crazier than the world?' It's honestly exhausting. I just wish the Trump administration would quit marketing the show for us."
