Hardy didn't provide any further context about the post, but fans weren't far off the mark, as the actor has now confirmed that the long-awaited season two of Taboo is very much on the way.

Chatting to LADbible ahead of his new series MobLand, Hardy revealed that fans can 'absolutely' expect a second outing of the period drama.

"We’re writing that at the moment," he added.

This isn't the first time Hardy has spoken about reviving Taboo, with the actor telling Esquire in 2021 that a second season was 'really, really important' to him, while co-creator Steven Knight revealing to GQ in 2023 'we know what the story is'.

But with this being the first concrete update Hardy has given on Taboo in several years, fans can rest easy knowing that further expeditions with Mr Delaney are on the horizon.

Check out the trailer for MobLand below:

Reflecting on his decision to dip his toes back into the world of crime as Harry Da Souza, Hardy added that working with Ritchie was 'absolutely' a factor in him joining the gritty series.

"I wanted to work with guy for ages. I just wanted to find the right vehicle to work with," he said.

The allure of working with The Gentlemen director was also swayed James Bond star Brosnan, who told LADbible that he 'loves' Ritchie's work.

"He sent me five scripts there last summer. I enjoyed reading them. I said, ‘Yes, I'm in'," he said.

"It was wonderful. You get to go home at four o'clock in the afternoon. Bloody brilliant. [Ritchie] doesn't mess about straight in. You go prepared. You go packing... That's the way I like it."

MobLand launches on 30 March exclusively on Paramount+ with episode one, followed by one new episode airing each week.
