Virgin Island season two came to a close last night, with a further three participants from the show losing their virginity.

This included the first pair from the show to lose their virginity to one another as opposed to the show’s surrogate partners, with Katie and Callum sleeping with each other.

At the end of the Channel 4 show however it reveals that a further two virgins on the series have had sex since the conclusion of the show, but doesn’t reveal which of them it is.

In an exclusive interview with LADbible however one of the two virgins to have lost their V Plate in the months since has spoken about how it happened.

Alex, 28, had sex earlier this year having left the island still a virgin, but it wasn’t with fellow virgin Joy who he was intimate with on the show.

Alex had sex with someone off a dating app, crediting the show for allowing him to overcome his ‘spectatoring’ health issue

The 28-year-old, from Essex, previously struggled with an anxiety related issue called ‘spectatoring’ which caused him to suffer from erectile dysfunction.

Alex told LADbible that it was with someone off a dating app, being honest with her that he had appeared on Virgin Island to address his intimacy issues.

He said: “This happened with someone I matched with on a dating app, which I was sort of doing before the island but I think now I was going into dates and not worrying that ‘okay I'm gonna have to say to this person that I get really nervous during sex and I often can't get an erection’.

“I was going in with a whole new sort of confidence and ease that I was going in so much more relaxed and showing confidence that these dates were going better and I was able to you know escalate things more quickly.”

He said that it happened spontaneously whilst hanging out, but that a moment on the show where he managed to get an erection in a session with Ilil Lunkry was more notable for him. Alex explained: “I think the bigger moment was the work I did Ilil and getting an erection and not being uncomfortable or anxious. It wasn't this big thing but rather just something that happened and was nice and good for the confidence and the ability of knowing I could yeah. But not such a big milestone as the sort of the stuff I had done on the island.”

Alex gave an update on him and Joy and revealed off camera moments that led to their romance

Alex and Joy had a sweet romance in the show, progressing from tasks to ultimately get intimate and kiss one another – but not ending up sleeping together.

The show is slightly vague, saying that the pair both went travelling and are now both back and speaking to one another, and Alex has explained the reasoning for this.

He said: “We both didn't have time for a committed relationship or anything like that but we were just having fun with it and then recently we've been more in touch.

“Like the show said just recently we’ve been back more in touch more talking more and just like having fun with it so yeah nothing committed or anything, just having fun together.”

He explained that the romance progressed slightly in moments we didn’t see, including when they would sit together for dinner and in flirty moments that were not aired.

Ultimately however Alex is simply thankful for the confidence the show has given him to address his anxiety around sex, finishing by saying: “Thanks to the show and the support afterwards this weight of performance anxiety in sex and in general life has been lifted. “I'm allowed to experience things differently now and not have to worry and not have to perform but just sort of be myself and acknowledge that ‘yeah I am likable just in and of who I am as a person rather than having to project this perfect version of myself.’”
