Virgin Island will now have its second participant from the show losing their virginity in tonight’s episode of the Channel 4 show – and that arguably isn’t even the most surprising thing that happens in the newest episode.
Virgin Island season two episode six has two firsts, with Tegan becoming the first woman to lose their virginity on the show.
Also in this episode however is the first time, outside of a task, we’ve seen two of the participants of the TV show getting intimate with each other.
Emma and Viraj were the first to enter a romance on the Channel 4 show, even going on a date after the series concluded filming, but never made things physical whatsoever.

Two stars of the new series, Joy and Alex, become the first in the show’s short history to take this leap with one another rather than with one of the show’s surrogate partners.

In a clip published by The Sun the pair get close with one another in a fairly intimate moment.
All of this takes place in front of the other participants on the show, leading Ellen to put a towel over her head in embarrassment.
He picks her up and places her on his lap, then asks to kiss her neck, with the two nuzzling into each other in full view of the cast of fellow virgins.
Eventually they share a kiss, being jokingly told to ‘get a room’ by the other participants.
Alex and Joy have both overcome some pretty serious issues to get to this point of confidence on the show, so it’s a sweet sight to see the duo so comfortable together.
Alex suffered before the show from an issue called ‘spectatoring’, a form of sexual anxiety which contributed to him suffering from erectile dysfunction.

Speaking to LADbible he said that one of the tasks, where he got an erection with surrogate partner Ilil, ‘undid ten years of sexual anxiety’.
Joy meanwhile suffers from vaginismus, saying before the show: “Despite having a Vaginismus diagnosis for years, I had only made minimal progress and was starting to lose hope of ever being healed.”
She stated that she wanted to ‘overcome her religious shame around sex’ and added in an interview with Cosmopolitan: “For me to start exploring and to really admit to myself that something might be wrong, where I couldn't insert something, I couldn't have sex, would be to admit that I wanted to have sex before marriage. That felt like something that I couldn't do.
“That that would be like admitting to God – and admitting to myself – that I wanted to do something sinful. So I kept a bit of a lock on it for longer than I should have because I was ashamed.
“Eventually, I got to like 18-years-old and genuinely realised there was a problem. It took me till I was probably about 20 to go to the doctor and to get a diagnosis.”
