A sex therapist from the controversial Channel 4 show Virgin Island has spoken out after being at the centre of an awkward moment on camera.
The latest episode of the sex-based reality TV show made headlines for all the wrong reasons, as a 'sex surrogate' was made to feel horribly uncomfortable by one of the show's participants.
If you aren't familiar with the premise, 12 adult virgins are brought on, with the goal of becoming more comfortable and confident enough to have sex by the end of the show.

Broadcast on Channel 4, participants go through radical sexual therapy, which involves practicing physical intimacy with their therapists.
A preview of a recent episode showed a virgin Zac getting told to put his clothes back on by surrogate partner, Kat Slade, which left many wondering what exactly had gone down between the two.

Kat is one of the show's surrogate partner therapists, along with a number of other specialists. Her role is to help the participants, and if things progress well with all parties feeling comfortable, she would be willing to have sex with the virgins.
But her odd encounter with Zac stole episode five's headlines, with his comments unsettling Kat and resulting in nothing sexual at all.

After watching the episode air with fellow therapist Aisha Paris Smith, she shared her thoughts in a video posted on social media, calling the experience 'cringe'.
The pair pointed out that they had just watched episode five and six, with Kat saying: "I cringed - the whole time, I just cringed."
She then clarified: "But good cringe," with Aisha adding: "Good cringe, the best kind of cringe, the 'we're so proud of what we did and we're so proud of the people' kind of cringe."
Kat agreed, as Aisha said it was 'funny' to see themselves on TV, and told fans to watch the episodes on Channel 4.

Before the session, Zac was speaking with confidence, speaking about possibly receiving oral sex or even losing his virginity.
This attitude carried over into the session, with Kat not being the biggest fan.
After Zac and Kat undress, the former is told to look into her eyes and say how he feels, saying: “I want to move forward… I want to touch you and be touched by you.”
Kat looks uncomfortable at this point, as she points out that he is only talking about touch, which Zac replies to and points out that he isn't getting the same feelings from her.
She noted that his focus on getting physical made her become 'protective'.

But then, Zac took it a step further, resulting in her ending the session completely.
“I came in here confident and excited, and I don’t know if you’re as used to that in this line of work and I don’t know if you find that intimidating,” he claimed.

He then suggests that they may not be compatible, and Kat tells him to get dressed.
If you had the misfortune of watching it unfold on TV, you'll know exactly how hard of a watch it all was, with Kat looking gradually more uncomfortable as he keeps talking.

There's just one more episode of Virgin Island left for fans to feast their eyes on.
It's expected that the episode will reveal if any of the adult virgins will be comfortable and ready enough to go all the way.
Virgin Island is available to watch on Channel 4 tonight (27 May), with previous episodes available to stream on All4.
