There’s only two episodes of Virgin Island left, but the conversations and controversy are still kicking off as the series heads into its biggest week yet.
Yep, Monday night (26 May) might see the participants edging towards the climax as it seems sex may finally be on the table.
It’s fair to say viewers have had an absolute filling so far, from surprising full-frontal nudity to more emotional moments of individual breakthroughs.

And a lot of that comes with the work of Virgin Island’s team of experts from clinical therapists to sex surrogates.
But with some of these roles not quite being typical occupations down at the job centre, plenty of viewers have questions for them. And one of the male surrogates has answered a biggie as he reveals what happens when he’s not attracted to a client.
Surrogate Partners Kat Slade and Andre Lazarus appeared on This Morning earlier as they discussed their profession and role on the show.
Leading the team on the show, Dr Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman previously explained to LADbible that there is a ‘triad relationship’ built between ‘a surrogate, a clinical therapist and the client’.

The surrogates provide ‘two-way touch’ therapy as they are often naked with the participants and follow a ‘structured protocol’ to work up to sex.
“In surrogacy, their boundaries of their method can be to have full sex with a client, but it is still an authentic process,” the experts said.
Andre explained on This Morning that he believes ‘working with the body is just as important as working with the mind’.
Host Ben Shephard went on to ask: “Physically, there has to be something that happens to a man if it’s going to go further as well – how do you manage that, Andre?

“If you’ve got a client that perhaps you aren’t sexually attracted to but wants to take that further?”
But the surrogate explained: “Physically, I would say that as a man, we don’t have to have all of our body parts working in order to form intimate connection.
“Or in order to have physical intimacy be something that feels good in our body.”
Andre claimed it’s a ‘common misconception that we’re supposed to have that’.

“Really, what we can do is tune into our body,” he said. “And say, ‘I’m enjoying touch, I’m enjoying hugging, I’m enjoying kissing.’
“That can be an intimate moment and then that takes us out of our head which allows the rest of our body to come online.”
Celeste echoed this to LADbible as she explained that it isn’t the surrogates’ job to go straight in for sex, ‘the job is to work authentically through the intimacy’.
Virgin Island continues on Channel 4 and streaming on Monday 26 May at 10pm.
