The newest episode of Virgin Island features a bizarre moment in which one of the sexual therapists ends a session immediately following a comment made by one of the show’s participants.
The Channel 4 show features 12 adult virgins, all of whom are looking to become more comfortable with intimacy in order to hopefully by the end of the show be able to have sex.
This is achieved in large part through radical sexual therapy in which they engage in physical intimacy with their therapists.
Episode four’s preview for the next episode saw one of the virgins, Zack, being told to put his clothes back on by his ‘surrogate partner’ Kat Slade.
Kat Slade ends the session shortly after (Channel 4) Kat is one of the show’s surrogate partner therapists, meaning that if they progress in a comfortable manner, she is willing to have sex with the virgins.
Tonight’s Virgin Island episode finally revealed what Zac had said to cause Kat to end the session early, however.
Prior to the session's beginning, Zac is shown speaking quite confidently with the others, suggesting that he may receive oral sex at the session and that he may even lose his virginity.
This over-eagerness translates to the session and ultimately leads to Kat ending it early. After the pair both undress, Zac is asked to look into her eyes and speak his honest feelings.
She says they should both put their clothes on shortly after the comment made by Zac (Channel 4) He says: “I want to move forward… I want to touch you and be touched by you.”
This makes Kat visibly uncomfortable, which she calls out by pointing out his emphasis on talking solely about touch.
Zac then states that he isn’t feeling the same desire from her, to which she reiterates that his emphasis on physicality makes her get ‘protective’.
He then makes a comment that leads to her ending the session nearly immediately, saying: “I came in here confident and excited, and I don’t know if you’re as used to that in this line of work and I don’t know if you find that intimidating.”
Zac's comment left viewers, and his therapist, uncomfortable (Channel 4) After a very brief exchange in which he suggests that they may not be compatible, she ends the session immediately, telling him to get dressed.
The moment is undeniably a tough watch, with Kat being left visibly uncomfortable by the comments made by the participant, leading her to end the session.
Fans took to social media to comment on the scene, with several being left cringing at the screen.
One fan tweeted: "I ‘enjoy’ Virgin Island as a show, but Jesus Christ every time Zac is on screen I am so uncomfortable... Some of the stuff he says is just objectifying women."
The controversial series has only one episode left, with the finale set to reveal which, if any, of the adult virgins in the series are comfortable losing their virginity.
