A Babestation Model Has Praised The 'Brave' Men Who Call Her Up

Model Zoe says it's not all about 'naughty sex chat' and getting naked

A Babestation model has revealed what life is really like as a cam girl - and has praised the 'brave men' who call her up for a chat.

Zoe Smith - not her real name - swapped her career as a hairdresser for a new life as a glamour model, working for one of the UK's most popular adult channels.

The basic premise of Babestation is that people phone up and pay to have a risqué chat with one of the models.

But while people may assume it's just about dirty talk and getting naked for money, the 28-year-old says there's a lot more to it than meets the eye, and that a lot of the time men just phone for an innocent chat.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Zoe said: "People have this really bad stereotype that it's really naughty sex chat all the time.

"You can wear what you want, cover up if you want or wear nice lingerie or a nice dress.

"You have to look presentable and be willing to sell them to the fantasy, because the whole point is that people who have desires and can't live them through day to day can call you up.

"Whether that be someone to talk to or someone to express how they're feeling, they're lonely or they like the way you look and their girlfriend doesn't look like that."

And while there is an obvious sexual element to what she does, Zoe insists it's about building a relationship with her customers.

She explained: "You do what you want. Some of the guys say, 'I want to see you doing this,' but it's important they build a relationship or a friendship with you first.

"You have to be willing to talk about anything and by the same token, if you are uncomfortable you can just log yourself off and go and take five minutes.

"I'm never ever uncomfortable there but they're paying so you have to treat it like it's customer service."

Zoe has been working for Babestation for the past couple of years, but after she was attacked in a bar, she now mainly works via webcam as opposed to being on TV.

And the adult entertainer says the majority of men who call her are 'brave', adding that she loves what she does.

She says: "The way I see it, if you're at home or you're doing something in your day and you want to speak to a complete stranger that you like the look of, I think that's a really brave thing to do, so I actually admire it.

"It's really flattering that someone would speak to me so I like to delve into why they've called."

Some of the men even send Zoe expensive gifts. She added: "They buy you things, perfume, shoes, outfits that you might want to wear. They do call up and ask to buy you things.

"They offer to [give you money] but I don't like to say yes, because I like to be aware of what I'm earning.

"If someone gave me a lot of money it's a bit unfair on them, but it has been offered but I don't accept it. You make a list online, like an Amazon wish list, and they would buy it off there, that's the way that it would be done.

"Some of the girls get gifts a lot more regularly, people just show a lot of love and appreciation for each other."

And while the late night shifts are more sexually driven because the models are allowed to show a lot more of themselves on camera, Zoe opts for day shifts, working from 2pm until 10pm.

She said: "The whole nature of it is that you tease. I thought if I'm online or on telly getting nude, where does that end?

"People have already seen it so for me I don't show a lot, I don't get nude or naked and I keep it that way, because I am quite a private person anyway."

When asked whether her career has affected her chance at finding real love, Zoe said that had been the case - but not for the reason you might expect.

She added: "It's been more questions about the income. 'What do you earn? How come you only work two three times a week? Get a real job' - that kind of thing.

"It's more been a threat because they don't understand how a woman can earn more than them, and work less.

"If I'm honest I would stop when I have children. I have always said I'd stop when I become pregnant. I would possibly return [after] I have children and it's the right time."
