Viewers Praising 'Feel Good' Netflix Show That Is Back For Fifth Series

The show is back for its fifth season and fans are delighted

Viewers are heaping praise on ‘feel good’ Netflix show Somebody Feed Phil as it returns for its fifth season. You can check out a clip from the show here:

The series sees Everybody Loves Raymond creator Philip Rosenthal travelling to different cities across the globe, where he samples their local cuisine.

Somebody Feed Phil launched back in 2018, where Phil visited numerous cities including Saigon, Lisbon and New Orleans.

Alongside tucking into some delicious food, Phil also uses the show to highlight charities and non-profit organisations that are making a difference in the cities featured.

Its fifth season arrived on the streaming platform last month and it’s fair to say fans are not tiring of it.

Posting on Twitter one person wrote: “There is not a single show ever made that makes me happier than Somebody Feed Phil. The perfect travel show where everyone is beautiful and nice and embodies the way that feeding people is a display of love. I swear I almost cry every episode."

Another said: “Loved the new season of Somebody Feed Phil as always really lighthearted and enjoyable way to discover new cultures and foods. @PhilRosenthal is so easy to watch and so likeable.”

Someone else commented: “Random feel-good TV recommendation nobody asked for: Somebody Feed Phil. The show is delightful and always makes me hungry.”

And a fourth added: “I love Somebody Feed Phil so much. @PhilRosenthal is simply a joy. That he actually participates in this much in the way Anthony Bourdain did, as an appreciator of the culture as a whole. Thank you @netflix for continuing to make this show!”

Season five sees Phil visiting Oaxaca in Mexico, Portland and Maine in the US, the Spanish capital of Madrid and Helsinki in Finland.

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Phil explained that the reason he looks so impressed during filming is because he is genuinely delighted to be tucking into new and unusual food.

He said: “I’m impressed a lot. People have even said to me: ‘It looks like you love everything.’ And the truth is, I do love everything, or at least everything I put in the show.”

He went on: “I never want to be rude.

“I never want to insult anybody’s culture or even their personal feelings. So generally, if it’s served to me, I’m going to taste it at the very least.”

The first five seasons of Somebody Feed Phil are available to stream on Netflix right now.
