Ask yourself the question, 'what can make any situation in the entire world better?' The answer, of course, is SpongeBob SquarePants.

The optimistic sea sponge, his trusted starfish right-hand man and the rest of the underwater motley crew have been causing mischief for 17 years, and there's no question that their influence has rubbed off.

In fact, Russian vandals decided that they'd turn a soviet star into Patrick Star with some brilliant graffiti.

The star, on top of a building in Voronezh, was reached by the vandals after they scaled the spire.

According to RT.com, it will cost 100,000 rubles (£1,225) to restore the star.

Every town needs a Patrick Star, to be fair, so they should count themselves lucky.
