iPhone 13 Pro owners have been urged to hand in their old devices this week to secure a hidden discount on a newer model.

Anyone who wants to swap their used iPhone 13 Pro for a newer Apple device can utilise Amazon's Trade-In Program to get money off the site.

The little-known scheme enables customers to trade in old devices, such as an iPhone, in exchange for a voucher, plus 20 percent off a brand new Amazon device.

Right now, if you hand the 2021 model in, you can get back up to £228 in vouchers, which can be put towards the newer iPhone 16e, which is priced at £549.

So, how does the Amazon Trade-In Program work, and what devices can you trade in? Find out everything you need to know below.

How does the Amazon Trade-In Program work?

The retailer is on hand to recycle and refurbish your old or obsolete phones, Fire Sticks, games consoles, Kindles, and any other device which is no longer up to your standards.

All you have to do is visit the Trade-In Program here, enter details about the condition of the gadget you want to hand in, before sending it off to Amazon HQ.

If successful, the retailer will financially reward you in the form of a gift card. Some customers may also be gifted 20 percent discount to redeem on further eligible Amazon items.

So, if you trade in a fully-functional and flawless 512GB iPhone 13 Pro, you can receive a voucher worth up to £228.

This can be used to bring the price of a 128GB iPhone 16E down to just £321.

Used iPhone 13 Pro phones featuring lower storage limits, such as 256GB and 128GB, can also command impressive cashback of up to £211 and £183, respectively.

What are people saying about the iPhone 16E?

The iPhone 16E, released last February, has a near-perfect rating of 4.6 out of five stars, with 83 percent of Amazon customers awarding it the full whack.

“Really good camera picture quality is superb, I'm a big fan of Apple products and the iPhone 16e lives up to standard I want," wrote one shopper.

"Everything is just as good but slightly better, the size is good and it is very light weight. The sound quality is very good. All in all, it's a great phone at a reasonable price."

A second commented: “Great phone for those who don’t need top-tier photography. Reasonably priced, works smoothly, and has a strong battery that easily lasts all day - no more carrying a power bank around!”

  • Two-in-one camera system
