The fast-food chain has just made a huge announcement that will change their menu as summer approaches.

Available for only three weeks, you might want to listen up to get the most out of your trips to the iconic golden arches in the UK.

McDonald's has revealed that the special deal will be launched on Wednesday 22 May, and it's set to rival supermarkets and restaurants as a lunch option.

That's right foodies, the iconic chain has announced that there will be a brand new 'Mix 'n' Match Menu' that will feature nine food options to choose from, with 165 different food combinations possible.

This news comes following the announcement that there will be a brand new burger available to customers this summer, called 'The Hat Trick'.

On top of that, Maccies themselves have made a huge change to Happy Meals for the first time in decades, really causing waves in the food industry with their changes so far.

This one may be the biggest one yet, and will apply to McDonald's chains across the UK and Ireland, as the deal will cost just £3 for the new menu.

But what does that entail?

Well, for 3 weeks from Wednesday 22 May, you can enjoy the '3 for £3' on the Mix 'N' Match menu, allowing you to buy three food items for only £3. Some ridiculous value that might put supermarket meal deals to shame.

Just in time for the first weeks of summer, they have stated in a press release that it is: "The perfect lunchtime pick me up, mid-week takeaway and just an all-round bargain!"

These are the items on offer for customers:

  • Small Fries
  • Cheeseburger
  • Hamburger
  • Mayo Chicken
  • 4 Nuggets
  • Apple Pie
  • Core Mini McFlurry (Oreo, Maltesers, Smarties)
  • Veggie Dippers
  • Side salad

The offer will run in all restaurants, with the chain even suggesting combinations in their official announcement.

They said: "If you’re a chicken lover you can opt for either 4 Chicken McNuggets, an Apple Pie & Side Salad OR a Mayo Chicken, Side Salad & Apple Pie. We’re sure you’ll want some golden Fries so your perfect combo could be a Cheeseburger/Hamburger, Small Fries & Side Salad.

"You know we’re all about balance so vegetarians can also choose from Veggie Dippers, a Mini McFlurry and small Fries. Now let’s face it, it doesn’t get better than that!"

It's a huge move, and they have also announced that for one day on Monday 20 May, customers can purchase two items for discounted prices on the official McDonald's app.

The Cheesy Bacon Flatbread is available for a discounted price of £1.19, a huge 30% off, while the McChicken® Sandwich is 50% off the usual price, available for just £1.39.
